About Blooming of Beloit Blooming of Beloit, in Beloit, WI is an outstanding specialty cut flower farm. It is a year round supplier of blooming trees, shrubs, ornamental berries, twigs, and perennial flowers and bulbs. With 94 acres and around 60,000 plants, Blooming of Beloit enjoys a central location around 75 miles from O’Hare Airport. Blooming of Beloit also works with select growers to import flowers from international sources. In this gallery you get to enjoy some of their wonderful imports from Israel. !

Some of The Flower Imports from Israel: The flowers and foliages used in this gallery that were imported from Israel include xanadu, variegated pittosporum, lisianthus, green bell, ranunculus, kochia, green trick dianthus, hypericum berries sunflowers, larkspur and delphinium. (While some of these materials may also be available from other parts of the globe we especially enjoyed using these Israeli imports from Blooming of Beloit.)

Green Bell Also known as pennycress. This flower is a filler material, meaning that it has tiny florets (eg. like babysbreath or statice). It is wispy. It is linear. It adds personality to any design that it graces.

Green Trick Dianthus This has become one of our favorite flowers! This flower has a very distinctive texture and actually feels ”bushy!” It is a dianthus making it a relative to the carnation. But this definitely isn’t Dad’s carnation! This one can be used for all kinds of designing, from classical to bleeding edge. It is also a very, very long keeping flower, and holds up well in water or foam.

Hypericum
One of our favorite berries! Berries always add new life and dimension to floral art. Hypericum is one that we enjoy using, for it is available in various colors. It is relatively easy to get. It is also fun to work with.

Kochia This stuff is incredible...... A striking silver/white foliage that works well with just about anything.... It can be used in designing ranging from holiday designing to everyday florals. Kochia can actually help to enhance any flowers that are mixed with it!

Lisianthus Lisianthus is one of those flowers that make any arrangement feel more natural and exciting. It is available in a range of colors, from white/ivory, to pink to even blues and lavenders. Ornithogalum Dubium Ornithogalum is one of those flowers that looks great whether it is tight or more open. The ornithogalum that we have used in this gallery are yellow and orange. We have used them here and there in our designing to provide a very bright and cheerful counterpoint to other floral materials. It is a very hardy flower. Some stems of ornithogalum lasted weeks after our photo shoot.

Variegated Pittosporum Variegated pittosporum has been a favorite foliage for many generations of floral artists. It covers mechanics quickly and easily. I love the cream color that is found on the tips of the leaves....... It gives a very distinctive character to floral designing ranging from bouquets, to vase arrangements and more.....
