Reconnecting to Support: Portfolio Preparation and Career Advice in Art
and Design
I hope you are having a positive academic year. I am the Founder and Director from London Art Portfolio, Julia Dennis. We have previously worked with students from St George's School to provide support in art and design portfolio building. It's been a pleasure working with them, and we are delighted that they've all progressed onto foundation and degree courses in their chosen specialist fields.
The feedback we've received over the years suggests that students benefit hugely from our courses in building successful portfolios but also meet new creative friends from the UK and other parts of the world - many of whom remain friends after LAP, which gives them a positive experience overall. This is also a great opportunity for international students to enhance their English language skills and their art and design-specific vocabulary, which is essential for university interviews.
At London Art Portfolio, our courses cater to diverse artistic aspirations. Here's a brief overview of what we offer (more can be found on our website: www.londonartportfolio.com ):
• Art & Design Tasters: Available online only throughout the summer, autumn, Christmas, and Easter breaks, these 1-week tasters are perfect for students seeking a fun and creative summer delving into the world of art and design. This is also a great opportunity for students to discover their future in the arts and explore potential career paths. Morning and afternoon options are perfect for students on holiday and fit into different time zones.

Psychology Research and Webinars

Psychology: Cutting Edge Research - Taking Part & Going ‘Behind The Scenes’ – Seminar 1 With UEA & Ispa - Channel Talent - Interactive school webinars
Social Psychology: Cutting Edge Research – Seminar Series with UEA and Ispa (Instituto Universitario (Portugal)
During the summer we have been developing an exciting Psychology programme with UEA and Ispa - Instituto Universitário (Portugal) in which students get the chance to learn more about psychological research by being participants in a live experiment that is tackling a cutting edge question relevant social Psychology and late adolescence.
Furthermore, across five interactive sessions taking place during the 20242025 academic year, Dr Louise Ewing and Dr Inês Mares will ‘pull back the curtain’ on this ongoing research process to highlight the issues that must be considered and addressed in order to design, conduct, analyse and
interpret studies with human participants that are theoretically important, ethically sound, and empirically robust.
The research sets out to characterise different elements of social behaviour during this developmental period (late adolescence) and how they can be influenced by different factors of our daily lives. We will look at the interplay between individual traits (internal factors) and external environmental factors on shaping social behaviours that are key for our role in society.
We invite student groups and individuals to take part in the research and to join us for the seminar series. Whilst the focus of the series is directly relevant to Psychology students, we know that the topic and research insights will also be of interest and benefit to those studying Sociology and the EPQ.
The Seminar Series comprises:
• Seminar 1: 10th October, 11:30-12:20 – Introducing the Research,Design Considerations & The 5 Seminar Programme
• Seminar 2: 14th November, 11:30-12:20 – Research Hypotheses,Identifying Gaps in Our Understanding & Our Methodological Approach
