HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about. Don't have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner of his/her mistakes of the past. Don't over do; keep your limits. Don't take yourself so seriously; no one else does. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip. Dream more while you are awake. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present. No one is in charge of your happiness except you. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
WISDOM FROM DALAI LAMA The Dalai Lama was asked: “What thing about humanity surprises you the most?” His answer: “Man, because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices his money to recuperate his health. Then he is so anxious about the future that he doesn’t enjoy the present. As a result, he doesn’t live in the present or the future. He lives as if he’s never going to die. Then he dies having never really lived."
Laughter is a powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert. With so much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feelgood chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain. Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
