The 'Rain Progress' paintings were produced during personal, private and intimate performances. Underneath each painting is approximately 30-40 other paintings. Created between 2012-2016, these works set-out to document and record a journey from HIV+ diagnosis and up to 2016. All works are autobiographical and reference personal accounts and experiences.
The Exhibition Plan 1. All paintings will be displayed in chronological order. 2. The sound of rain fall will fill the gallery and play continuously on a loop. 3. The white gallery walls will be painted with the 'Rain Progress' blue raindrop in a repetitive pattern beneath all paintings except 'Lost Line Wise Man & Everything is Connected' (see below for example).
4. When audience enter the space to view the paintings they will be asked if they would like to borrow an umbrella while they view paintings. The connotation to "bad luck when opening an umbrella indoors" further pushes the 'Rain Progress' paintings statements home.
