Letter from the Pros It’s our honor to welcome our Members to the 2019 Golf Season at The Clubs by JOE. The Golf Staff has worked tirelessly to introduce a few new events to our already outstanding tournament schedule and we hope you enjoy them. It is our hope that these added events will continue to help us grow and increase participation at the Clubs so that we may have yet another record breaking year. In this book, you will find the 2019 tournament schedule of events and a brief description of what they entail. The Golf Committee is committed to continuing to help build comradery and offer special events that build participation. The 2018 season boasted record breaking events by having full participation in all of our major tournaments. It is our goal to continue this trend and offer the Member golf association a strong schedule of events. We can’t express how fortunate we are to be part of such wonderful places like Camp Creek and Shark’s Tooth Golf Clubs. The quality of our golf courses have never been better thanks to the combined efforts of Josh Parker at Shark’s Tooth Golf Club and Ryan Dykes at Camp Creek Golf Club. Both Josh and Ryan have been working diligently to continue to improve upon the facilities upkeep and quality of play. We truly have a special place here and we hope you find the courses fair, yet challenging, as you spend time with us during the 2019 season.

SEAN MCGAUGHEY

Director of Golf, The Clubs by JOE Born in Sausalito California, Sean’s passion for golf started at a very young age. He attributes his character and morals to his upbringing in the Junior Golf Programs of his youth. Following college, Sean spent the next four years as the Lead Assistant at Mt. Shasta Resort in Mt. Shasta, CA. He then was afforded the luxury of working for CordeValle Golf Club, a Rosewood Hotel Resort located in San Martin, CA. During his tenure at CordeValle, Sean was able to be a part of some amazing events such as the Fry’s.com Open, as well as the PGA Cup for Club Professionals. He comes to us from Atlanta Country Club, where he served as the Head Golf Professional. Sean resides in the Panama City Beach area with his lovely wife Loren.

MATTHEW HIPPS, PGA

Head Professional, Shark’s Tooth Matt grew up around world class golf in Hilton Head, SC but didn’t find his passion for the game until his college years in Jacksonville, FL. Upon completion of his degree, he took a job as an Assistant Golf Professional at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club where he spent the next four years. His next stop was at Sawgrass Country Club, the original home of The Players Championship. During his time at Sawgrass, he worked his way into the First Assistant Golf Professional role before moving back to his home state for an opportunity to work at The Cliffs Valley in Greenville, SC. Matt brings with him, sixteen years of experience in the golf industry, a great passion for the game of golf and a desire to share what he has learned with his staff, Members, and guests alike.

JOSH PARKER

Superintendent, Shark’s Tooth Raised in a small town in north Mississippi, Josh attended Mississippi State University where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Agronomy. Josh spent time as the Assistant Superintendent at The Oaks Golf Club in Pass Christian, MS and at Mississippi State University’s Golf Course in Starkville, MS. He moved to Florida in early 2006 to be the Assistant Superintendent at Camp Creek before moving into the Superintendent’s role at Shark’s Tooth in 2011. Josh is a 19 year member of the GCSAA and achieved Class A Superintendent status in 2014. Josh is married and has two sons. 4

LEE MORAN, PGA

Head Professional, Camp Creek Born in Malden, Massachusetts then moved at a young age to Kingston, Pennsylvania. Lee started his education at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus majoring in Education. Lee was a part of the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Golf Team where his team won the North Eastern Pennsylvania Division III Championship. He was also MVP for his golf team and qualified for the state tournament where he finished 19th. Lee completed his final internship at Shark’s Tooth Golf Club in 2004 and later became first assistant in 2005. Lee was elected in 2006 as a member of the Professional Golf Association.

RYAN DYKES

Superintendent, Camp Creek Ryan was born in Hinesville, Georgia and raised outside of Gainesville in a one red light town called Keystone Heights, Florida. He graduated from Lake City Community College with a degree in Golf Course Operations and became Assistant Superintendent at Southwood Golf Club before taking over as the Superintendent of Grand Haven in Palm Coast, FL. Ryan left the golf business to pursue his own landscape design business, but ultimately ended up back at Southwood as Assistant Superintendent. Prior to Camp Creek, Ryan worked under Josh at Shark’s Tooth. He has three little fishing buddies that take up his time outside of work. He looks forward to serving The Clubs by JOE Membership for many years to come. War Eagle!

EMILY GROUBERT

Merchandise Manager, Shark’s Tooth & Camp Creek Golf Clubs Emily Groubert is St. Joe Club & Resorts’ Merchandising Manager. She attended The Florida State University pursuing her love for the fashion industry by receiving a degree in Retail Merchandising & Product Development. She has worked in all parts of the industry including retail sales, wholesale sales, merchandising, and buying. In her space time she enjoys being out on the water boating, swimming, and paddle boarding. Emily is excited to be a part of the St. Joe Club & Resorts team and bring her knowledge and background to her position.

Director of Golf, The Clubs by JOE Growing up in the small town of Mt. Shasta, California Sean found a love for the game of golf at a very young age. Following graduation from Chico State University he soon found himself coming back to the game that helped shape who he is today. With over 10 years in the industry, Sean has been fortunate enough to learn from some of the legends of the game such as Larry Nelson, Padraig Harrington, Stewart Cink and Joe Inman. His teaching philosophy focuses on helping students achieve their goals through creating strong core fundamentals based on their personal aspirations. “It’s all about creating smiles! Every student gets there a little bit differently, and it’s my job to coach them through it. Keep it simple and great things will happen.” For Sean, teaching the game is helping grow it, and he looks forward to seeing you on the teaching tee.

MATTHEW HIPPS, PGA

Head Professional, Shark’s Tooth Golf Club With sixteen years in the golf industry and a dozen years of teaching experience, Matt works with each student to design a personal improvement program based on their abilities and aspirations to help them achieve their golfing goals. His message is one of simplicity. “My goal is to understand how each player moves and help them build a swing within that framework. Each players swing is unique. I love helping players find the best version of their own swing.” He enjoys teaching the game of golf and watching the growth of his players, but above all, he believes that first and foremost, the ultimate goal is to have fun learning this wonderful game you can play for a lifetime.

Head Professional, Camp Creek Golf Club Lee Moran began his teaching career at Penn State in the Professional Golf Management Program. After graduating, he moved down to the beach to begin working as an Assistant Golf Professional at Shark’s Tooth Golf Club. Growing up, Lee worked and studied the golf swing always trying to create his very own teaching philosophy. It is through this process that Lee developed his teaching philosophy of growing the game through pure enjoyment. “Fun should be the priority in learning how to play the game no matter what the handicap.” Lee continues this tradition today at Camp Creek Golf Club where he enjoys the challenge of bettering people’s games to reach their full potential.

Handicap Policy To help improve the integrity of our club events, The Clubs by JOE has decided to put together a Tournament Handicap Committee. This Committee will help determine the parameters of our events and eligibility for participants. Posting of scores is mandatory for any Members of The Clubs by JOE who wish to play in club events. The honor and integrity of the game is based on proper etiquette, and we hope to uphold this standard to all events hosted by The Clubs by JOE. Posting of scores is the primary focus going forward, and we encourage all Members to post all scores played at the Club. Members who are not posting scores are subject to handicap modifications or ineligibility into events. Using our operating system (Jonas) allows us to audit each Membersâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; rounds played. These rounds can then be compared to the GHIN system, giving us the data needed to enforce proper handicap management. The tournament committee has reached out to several prominent Clubs throughout the Southeast to help initiate the following guidelines.

Policy and Rules for Handicap Management 1. Any Member may establish a USGA handicap through The Clubs by JOE. If a Member chooses to opt out of having a USGA handicap, he or she will not be eligible to play in any function were prizes are awarded. The Golf Shop will also not supply or verify a handicap to another golf club or golf event. 2. All guest playing in any sanctioned events must carry an official USGA handicap. If a player does not have a USGA handicap, he or she will be given a 0 handicap for competition. 3. USGA rules apply to all posted rounds-no mulligans on the first tee; no rolling the ball anywhere on the course; no winter rules. Of course, there may be times when course conditions dictate the lift, clean and place rule. This will be implemented on a case-by-case basis by the golf staff. 4. All players will be expected to post their scores year round when they play. All scores can be posted either in the golf shop at designated terminals or by the golf shop staff. If the golf shop is closed we advise you to download the GHIN app on your smart phone or visit GHIN.com for posting. The Handicap Committee will monitor the posting of scores and any flagrant posting violations. Exception: While playing as a single, scores will not be eligible for posting.

5. Failure to post scores will result in the following penalties: •

1st infraction: A score equal to the players lowest differential will be posted.

•

2nd infraction: A score equal to the player’s lowest differential will be posted as a Tournament “T” score.

•

3rd infraction: A player will be suspended from competition in The Clubs by JOE ‘s sanctioned tournaments indefinitely, until they have an opportunity to explain to the golf committee why they have not been posting scores. No handicap will be issued to other Clubs during this period.

6. All players will be expected to adjust their scores based on the USGA equitable stroke control rating. The formula is as follows: 18-HOLE HANDICAP

7. All away scores must be posted in the same manner as all home scores. 8. The golf professional staff will be responsible to posting all tournament scores. 9. There are exceptions – sometimes we go out on the golf course with no intention of trying to keep score – to practice or try out new equipment. Under these circumstances, you may inform the golf shop in advance that you are playing a non-stipulated round for which you do not wish to post a score. A “stipulated round” consists of playing the holes of the course in the correct sequence unless otherwise authorized by the golf shop. The number of holes in a stipulated round is at least 13; holes not completed will be adjusted by equitable stroke control. Being the prominent Clubs in the Panhandle, it is important that we uphold the highest standard when it comes to handicap management. The tournament committee is here to help, and it is our goal to bring respect and integrity to all events hosted by The Clubs by JOE. We appreciate you all helping us on the above stated criteria in reaching these objectives.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES Local Rules and Rule Sheets: All of The Clubs by JOE’s tournaments are governed by the rules of golf (USGA) and its decisions and where applicable, by the local rules and the Rule Sheets handed out during tournament play. It is the responsibility of the player to become familiar with the local rules and information on rule sheet provided. These rules shall be strictly enforced by Golf Professional Staff.

Pace of Play: All rounds at The Clubs by JOE shall be played in less than four (4) hours and rule 6-7 will be enforced for undue delay, slow play. Any group that is not playing at an acceptable pace with an open space in front of them will be considered out of position. Groups out of position will be advised and timed. And one or more players may be penalized. In stroke play, penalties will be (1) stroke – first offense; (2) strokes – second offense and disqualification – subsequent offense. In match play loss of hole will be the penalty for first two offense and subsequent offense – disqualification.

Tournament Registration: Lifestyle, Signature Golf, and Limited Golf Members may enter events upon the opening of the events. Generational Golf Members are eligible for all events with the exception of The Clubs by JOE’s major events (Shootout at the Creek, Joe Cup, Norman-Fazio, The Club Championship, and Sharkfest).

Distance Measuring Devices: These devices will be permitted in all The Clubs by JOE Tournaments; for measuring distance only.

Discontinue of Play: If the lightning protection alarm sounds one long continuous signal, all players must immediately take cover in a safe shelter (comfort stations, Golf Shops, Clubhouse, and tunnel). Players may not resume play unless all clear alarm sounds three short signals or all clear from Golf Professional Staff. Penalty for breach of rule may be disqualification.

Tie Breakers: Ties in The Clubs by JOE tournaments will be decided in a match of cards. The winner will be determined on the basis of the best score for last nine, if still undecided then last six holes, and then the last three holes, and if not decided the eighteenth hole.

Exception: The Shootout at the Creek, Joe Cup, Norman-Fazio, Club Championship, and Sharkfest will be decided by sudden death playoff beginning on the 18th hole.

Tournament Handicaps: Formal review of handicaps will take place prior to each Club event. Players will not be able to participate in competition without an official established USGA handicap or without proper posting of scores. Players need to post their score after each round they play to establish a proper and correct handicap. We will be checking rounds played by Members and checking to see if a score has been posted to their handicap. The posting of scores has become much easier with the GHIN.com app and posting online. The Golf Professional Staff at both Camp Creek and Shark’s Tooth will be happy to post your score at the conclusion of your rounds. All guest playing in any sanctioned events must carry an official USGA handicap. If a player does not have a USGA handicap, he or she will be given a 0 handicap for competition For further information, please call Camp Creek, 850.231.7601 or Shark’s Tooth, 850.249.3041.

Adopting USGA Rule 3.5 to the Clubs Tournament Program The Golf Professional Staff has followed suit with the rest of country and adopted rule 3.5 for all tournament competition moving forward.

Players Competing from a Different Course Rating or Tees Q. When players are competing from a different USGA Course Rating or tees, why do you make a Course Handicap TM adjustment? What if players are competing from more than two sets of tees? Can a Committee ignore this adjustment?

Players competing from two different tees: Players electing to move forward in all of The Clubs by JOE’s sanctioned events will be subject to rule 3.5 in the USGA handicap manual. In accordance with rule 3.5, players will be given their selected tee handicap and deducted two strokes for tournament play.

2019 UPDATED USGA RULES Ball at Rest

1. Ball moved during search

Under Rule 7.4, if a player accidentally moves his or her ball while searching for it: • •

The player will get no penalty for causing it to move, and The ball will always be replaced; if the exact spot is not known, the player will replace the ball on the estimated original spot (including on, under or against any attached natural or man-made objects which the ball had been at rest under or against).

. 2. No penalty for moving ball on the putting green

Under Rule 13.1d, there will no longer be a penalty if a player (or opponent) accidentally causes the player’s ball to move on the putting green. •

The substance of this Rule change has already been implemented as of 1 January 2017 by authorizing Committees to adopt a Local Rule that eliminates the penalty for accidentally moving a ball on the putting green.

3. Standard for deciding why a ball moved

Under Rule 9.2, the “known or virtually certain” standard (meaning at least 95% likely) will apply to all questions of fact about why a ball at rest moved: •

A player, opponent or outside influence will be found to have caused the ball to move if the player, opponent or outside influence was known or virtually certain to have caused it to move; otherwise it will be assumed that natural forces caused it to move.

4. Replacing the ball when original spot is not known

Under Rule 14.2c, in that same situation: • •

The ball will always be placed on a spot rather than being dropped. If the exact original spot is not known, the player will be required to replace the ball on its estimated spot (including on, under or against any attached natural objects that the ball had been at rest on, under or against).

Ball in Motion

1. Ball in motion accidentally deflected

Under Rule 11.1, for all accidental deflections, including when the ball hits the player or opponent or their equipment or caddies: • •

There will be no penalty and the ball will be played as it lies (with limited exceptions). To address any concern that a player might deliberately position equipment to act as a backstop and potentially deflect his or her ball, there will be a penalty if the ball hits equipment that was positioned for that purpose (Rule 11.2a).

Taking Relief

1. Measuring the size of the relief area where a ball must be

dropped Players will continue to drop a ball when taking relief, but the dropping procedure will be changed in several ways as detailed in Rule 14.3: •

•

The focus of the dropping procedure will be on a specific “relief area” set by the Rule under which relief is being taken and will be either one or two club-lengths from a reference point (and may have certain other limitations). The relief area is a fixed size for each player and is pre-determined based on the clubs the player has selected for play.

. 2. New procedure for dropping a ball

Players will continue to drop a ball when taking relief, but the dropping procedure will be changed in several ways as detailed in Rule 14.3: •

How a ball may be dropped is simplified; the only requirement will be that the ball be let go from knee height so that it falls through the air and does not touch any part of the player’s body or equipment before it hits the ground.

3. Where a dropped ball must come to rest

Players will continue to drop a ball when taking relief, but the dropping procedure will be changed in several ways as detailed in Rule 14.3: •

The ball will need only to be dropped in and come to rest in the relief area; and there will be no re-drop requirement if the dropped ball accidentally hits a person or object after hitting the ground but before coming to rest in the relief area. If the dropped ball comes to rest outside the relief area, it will be dropped a second time; if it comes to rest outside the relief area after being dropped a second time it will be placed where it first touched the ground. If the placed ball will not come to rest on that spot after two attempts, the player will then place the ball on the nearest spot (not nearer the hole) where it will come to rest. 4. Fixed distances to be used for measuring

A club-length will be defined as the length of the longest club in the player’s bag, except that this cannot be his or her putter. • •

The relief area for dropping a ball will be a fixed size of either one or two club-lengths depending on which relief Rule is being used. The relief area is a fixed size for each player and is pre-determined based on the clubs the player has selected for play.

5. Time to search before ball is lost

Under Rule 18.2, the time for a ball search (before the ball becomes lost) will be reduced from 5 minutes to 3 minutes.

. 6. Substitution of ball always allowed when taking relief

Under Rule 14.3, when taking relief, the player will always be allowed the choice to substitute a ball or to use the original ball, including: •

When taking penalty relief as well as when taking free relief (Rules 15-19).

7. Relief for an embedded ball

The current default position in the Rules will be reversed: •

Rule 16.3 will allow relief for a ball embedded anywhere in the “general area” (that is, the area currently known as “through the green”), except when embedded in sand. But a Committee may adopt a Local Rule restricting relief to a ball embedded in those parts of the general area cut to fairway height or less. In taking relief, the player will drop the original ball or a substituted ball within one club-length of (but not nearer the hole than) the spot right behind where the ball was embedded.

Areas of the Course

1. When to replace a ball that moves on the putting green

Rule 13.1d, will revise the procedure for when a ball on the putting green is moved by wind, water or other natural forces, so that it must sometimes be replaced and sometimes be played from its new spot: •

“Damage on the putting green” will be defined to include all types of damage (such as ball-marks, shoe damage, indentations from a club or flagstick, animal damage, etc.), except aeration holes, natural surface imperfections or natural wear of the hole.

. 2. Repairing damage on the putting green

Rule 13.1c(2) allows repair of almost any damage on the green: •

3. Touching line of play on a putting green

The prohibition of touching the line of play on the putting green will be eliminated: •

There will no longer be a penalty for merely touching the line of play on the putting green (the term “line of play” will apply everywhere on the course including the putting green, and the term “line of putt” will no longer be used). But the player will still be subject to the prohibition on improving his or her line of play on the putting green (see Rule 8.1a, as limited by 8.1b).

4. Ball played from green hits unattended flagstick in hole

Under Rule 13.2a(2): • •

There will no longer be a penalty if a ball played from the putting green hits a flagstick left in the hole. Players will not be required to putt with the flagstick in the hole; rather, they will continue to have the choice to have it removed (which includes having someone attend the flagstick and remove it after the ball is played).

5. Areas the committee may mark as penalty areas

Under the new Rules, “Water hazards” will be superseded by the expanded concept of “penalty areas”, and Rule 17 will provide the same basic options for relief that exist under the current Rules: •

A penalty area will include both (1) all areas currently defined in the Rules as a water hazard or lateral water hazard and (2) any other areas the Committee chooses to define as penalty areas (with recommended guidelines to be provided in the guidebook). Penalty areas may therefore include areas such as deserts, jungles, lava rock fields, etc. The term “hazard” will no longer be used in the Rules.

. 6. Touching loose impediments or ground in a penalty area

Under Rule 17: •

There will no longer be any special restrictions when a ball is in a “penalty area” (the expanded designation for the area that includes what are now called water hazards). A player will be allowed to touch or move loose impediments and touch the ground with hand or club (such as grounding the club right behind the ball) for any reason, subject only to the prohibition on improving conditions for the stroke (see new Rule 8.1a).

7. Expanded use of red-marked penalty areas

8. Elimination of opposite side relief for red penalty areas

Rule 17.1d will remove the option to take relief on the opposite side of a red penalty area (the new term that will include what is today called a lateral water hazard): •

This means that, when a ball is in a red penalty area, the player will have three options for relief (all for a one-stroke penalty) rather than four options as today. But a Committee could still adopt a Local Rule allowing opposite side relief on those holes where it believes the other relief options are not viable.

9. Moving or touching loose impediments or touching sand in a

bunker Under Rules 12.2a and 12.2b, the player will be allowed to touch or move loose impediments in a bunker and will be generally allowed to touch the sand with a hand or club; but a limited prohibition continues so that the player must not: •

•

Deliberately touch the sand in a bunker with a hand, club, rake or other object to test the condition of the sand to learn information for the stroke, or Touch the sand in a bunker with a club in making a practice swing, in grounding the club right in front of or behind the ball, or in making the backswing for a stroke.

. 10. Unplayable ball in a bunker

The player will have an extra option allowing relief outside the bunker using the back-on-the-line procedure, but for a total of two penalty strokes (Rule 19.3b).

11. Use of clubs damaged during a round

Under Rule 4.1: •

A player will be allowed to keep using and/or to repair any club damaged during the round, no matter what the damage and even if the player damaged it in anger. A player will not be allowed to replace a damaged club, except when it is damaged during the round by an outside influence or natural forces or by someone other than the player or his or her caddie.

12. Adding clubs to replace a club damaged during a round

Under Rule 4.1: •

13. Use of distance-measuring devices

The current default position in the Rules will be reversed: • •

Rule 4.3 will allow players to use DMDs to measure distance. But a Committee may adopt a Local Rule prohibiting such use of DMDs.

Playing the Ball

1. Caddie standing behind a player to help line the player up

Under Rule 10.2b(4): •

The current prohibition will be extended so that, once the player begins taking a stance for the stroke, and until the stroke is made, the player’s caddie must not deliberately stand on or close to an extension of the line of play behind the ball for any reason. There will be no penalty if the caddie accidentally stands on or close to an extension of the line of play behind the ball, rather than in trying to help in lining up.

. 2. Caddie lifting ball on the putting green

Under Rule 14.1b: •

The player’s caddie will be allowed to mark and lift the player’s ball on the putting green any time the player is allowed to do so, without needing authorization. The caddie will continue to be allowed to replace the player’s ball only if the caddie was the one who had lifted or moved the ball.

New Local Rule

Local Rule: Alternative to stroke and distance Purpose of Model Local Rule: Significant issues with pace of play can result from players needing to take stroke-and-distance relief for a ball that is out of bounds or cannot be found when a provisional ball has not been played. The purpose of this Local Rule is to allow a Committee to provide an extra relief option that means that a player may play on without returning to the location of the previous stroke. This Local Rule is not intended for higher levels of play, such as professional or elite amateur level competitions. This option allows the player to drop in a large area between the point where the ball is estimated to have come to rest or gone out of bounds and the edge of the fairway that is not nearer the hole The player gets two penalty strokes when using this relief option, so that the relief is comparable to what could have been achieved if the player had taken stroke-anddistance relief. Text of Model Local Rule “When a player’s ball cannot be found or is known or virtually certain to be out of bounds, the player may proceed as follows rather than proceeding under stroke and distance. For two penalty strokes, the player may take relief by dropping the original ball or a substituted ball in this relief area (see Rule 14.3): Two Estimated Reference Points: A. Ball Reference Point: The point where the original ball: • •

GUEST PRIVILEGES Guests of Members may be extended guest use privileges subject to payment of applicable guest fees and charges and compliance with the rules and regulations established by the Club Operator. Guest privileges may be limited, denied, withdrawn or revoked at any time by the Club Operator. Although it is the intention of the Club Operator to accommodate Guests without inconvenience to the Members, the Club Operator may limit the number of Guests that accompany a Member on any given day or other time period. A particular person may use the Club Facilities as a guest a maximum of six (6) times each Membership year, regardless of sponsoring Member. A particular individual using the Club Facilities as a guest must be registered by the sponsoring Member with the Club. The Club reserves the right to require identification by each Guest. Guests will be charged guest fees for use of the Club Facilities as determined from time to time by the Club. Guests will be entitled to use the Club Facilities only in accordance with the privileges of the Membership of the sponsoring Member. Limited Golf Members may not play golf more than their twenty four (24) allotted rounds by being a Guest of another Member. All Guests shall be either Unaccompanied Guests or Accompanied Guests.

Accompanied Guests 1. 1. A lifestyle Member, signature golf Member, or limited golf Member may bring accompanied guests to play the golf course each day subject to the payment of the applicable guest fees. A particular person may use the Club facilities as a guest a maximum of six (6) times each Membership year, regardless of sponsoring Member. 2. Accompanied Guests must be accompanied by the Member at all times when using any facility of the Club, and Accompanied Guests will be charged guest fees for use of the facilities as determined from time to time by the Club Operator. 3. Accompanied Guests will be allowed to use the Club Facilities only in accordance with the privileges of the Membership of the sponsoring Member upon payment of use fees. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Club currently charges Members (other than Lifestyle Members) a guest fee per person per day in an amount established by the Club Operator from time to time. 4. Accompanied Guest privileges may be limited by the Club Operator, from time to time, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Club Operator. 5. Fees and charges for any services may be paid directly by the Guest to the Guestâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s credit card or may be charged to the sponsoring Memberâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Club Account. Cash payments are not permitted. Sponsoring Members shall be responsible for all unpaid fees and charges incurred by their Guests. 6. Sponsoring Members are responsible for the conduct of their Guests while on the Club Facilities. If the manner, deportment or appearance of any Guest is deemed to be unsatisfactory, the sponsoring Member shall, at the request of the Club Operator, cause such Guest to leave the Club Facilities.

Unaccompanied Guests 1. Each Lifestyle Member, Signature Golf Member or Limited Golf Member may sponsor guests to use the Club Facilities unaccompanied by the Member up to 24 golf rounds per Membership year. The Club may change a number of unaccompanied guest rounds permitted each Membership year from time to time as it is expected that the number will decrease as more Memberships are issued. Notwithstanding the foregoing. 2. All unaccompanied guest are subject to tee times after 10:30 AM unless approved by the Golf Professional Staff. 3. A Member and his or her Unaccompanied Guest must complete such forms and submit such information as requested by the Club Operator in its sole and absolute discretion. 4. Unaccompanied Guests may be approved by the Club Operator for the length of stay, up to a maximum of two (2) weeks and subject to a fee as determined by the Club Operator. At the expiration of the privileges extended to an Unaccompanied Guest, a Member may submit a renewal request to the Club Operator to extend the Unaccompanied Guest privileges. Renewals of Unaccompanied Guest privileges may be granted at the discretion of the Club Operator. 5. Unaccompanied Guests will be allowed to use the Club Facilities (other than the Beach Club) only in accordance with the privileges of the Membership of the sponsoring Member and upon payment of the applicable use fees. 6. Unaccompanied Guests are permitted to use the Club Facilities (excluding the Beach Club) without being accompanied by the Member in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the Club Operator from time to time. 7. The sponsoring Member shall not be required to relinquish his or her Membership privileges for the period of time the Unaccompanied Guest is granted guest privileges. 8. Fees and charges for any services shall be charged to the Guest’s credit card provided at the time of application for guest privileges or if not so provided, to the sponsoring Member’s Club Account. Cash payments are not permitted. Sponsoring Members shall be responsible for all unpaid fees and charges incurred by their Unaccompanied Guest.

9. Unaccompanied Guest privileges may be limited by the Club Operator, from time to time, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Club Operator. 10. The sponsoring Member shall be responsible for the conduct of an Unaccompanied Guest while on the Club Facilities. If the manner, deportment or appearance of any Unaccompanied Guest is deemed to be unsatisfactory, the sponsoring Member shall, at the request of the Club Operator, cause such Unaccompanied Guest to leave the facilities.

Extended Family 1. The Extended Family of Members are not subject to the six times per Membership year limitation and the limit of 24 Unaccompanied Guest rounds for each Member per Membership year. Extended Family consists of children not included within the definition of immediate family and parents of the Member and Memberâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s spouse. 2. Extended Family of a Member may use the Beach Club, clubhouse, golf practice facilities, tennis and fitness facilities unaccompanied by the Member upon payment of such fees as established by the Club Operator from time to time. Currently, Extended Family of Members (other than Lifestyle Members) are charged a per person per day fee, in addition to applicable use fees. Signature Golf Members Extended Family may not use Beach Club. 3. The Club may modify or terminate Extended Family privileges and establish such rules and policies with respect thereto as it may determine from time to time.

GOLF RULES General Golf Rules 1. The Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association (USGA) together with the Rules of Etiquette as adopted by the U.S.G.A. shall be the rules of the Club, except when in conflict with local rules. 2. The Club Operator will notify Members of future tournaments, corporate and other group outings, fund raising events and other times when use of any golf course will be restricted. 3. All players, especially children and beginning golfers, are expected to learn and observe the fundamentals of golf etiquette. 4. “Cutting in” is not permitted at any time. All play shall start at the first tee unless otherwise directed by golf shop personnel. Under no circumstances are players permitted to start play from a private residence. Practice is not allowed on the golf course. The practice facilities must be used for all practice. 5. Slow play is not tolerated. In the interest of all, players should play without delay. No player should play until the players in front are safely out of range. 6. Foursomes should complete an 18-hole round in four (4) hours. If a foursome or other group of players is unable to maintain adequate speed of play and fails to keep their place on the course, they must allow the following group to play through. Golf shop personnel have the authority to stop a slow playing group to allow the following group(s) to play through or to require the slow playing group to pick up their balls and move forward to catch up with the group ahead. 7. Continued slow play by players will be noted and the golf staff will attempt to improve such player’s skills to enable them to complete play within four hours. If such efforts do not result in the required completion time, the Club Operator may limit the play of such players to times other than prime playing times. 8. All players who stop after playing nine holes for any reason must occupy the next tee before the following players arrive at the tee or they will lose their position on the golf course and must get permission from the starter to resume play. 9. While playing on the course, each player must use a separate set of golf clubs. 10. Searching for balls other than those played by members of the group is not allowed on the course at any time. 11. All tournament play must be approved in advance by the Club’s golf professionals. 12. Appropriate golf attire is required for all players on the golf course and golf practice facilities. Members are expected to ensure that immediate family members and Guests adhere to such rules. Members should remind their Guests of the dress policy prior to arrival at the Club to avoid embarrassment for the Member and their Guests.

Acceptable/Unacceptable Gentlemen: Shirts with collars and sleeves, mock neck shirts with sleeves, slacks and golf shorts up to four inches above the knee are considered appropriate attire. Tank tops, tee shirts, fishnet tops, cut-offs, jams, sweat pants, jeans, bathing suits, gym shorts, or other athletic shorts more than four inches above the knee are not permitted.

Ladies:

Dresses, skirts, slacks and golf shorts up to four inches above the knee and golf shirts are considered appropriate attire. Halter tops, tank tops, tee shirts, fishnet tops, cut-offs, bathing suits, sweat pants, jeans or short shorts are not permitted.

Shoes:

The use of soft spikes or other spike-less golf shoes are required on the golf facilities. Use of shoes other than soft spikes or spike-less golf shoes must be approved by the golf shop.

This dress code is mandatory for all players. Improperly dressed golfers will be asked to change before playing. If you are in doubt concerning your attire, please check with the golf shop before starting play. WARNING: Soft spikes and other spike-less shoes are made from material which can cause slipping and falling under certain circumstances. To reduce the risk of injury, exercise caution when walking on wood, steep slopes, dead grass and on hard surfaces such as rocks, concrete, tile, marble, ice and hardwood floors. Worn cleats should be replaced promptly. 13. The golf courses may not be used for any purpose except golf. Any non-golf activities such as picnicking, biking, kite flying, soccer, football, recreational walking, jogging, walking of pets, skateboarding, roller skating and similar activities are not permitted on the cart paths or golf course. Fishing in lakes on the golf course is not permitted unless prior approval is obtained from the General Manager and is in compliance with all rules established by the Club Operator. 14. Unaccompanied play by children under the age of fifteen (15) is subject to approval by the Club Operator. Children aged twelve (12) to fifteen (15) may be allowed use of the golf facilities without being accompanied by an adult after successfully completing a Junior Development Course administered by the Club’s golf professionals. Golfers under twenty-three (23) years of age may be required to complete the Junior Development Course if they, in the view of the Club’s golf professionals, do not possess the adequate knowledge of golf and its rules of etiquette. 15. For the protection of Members and Guests, the Clubs have installed the Thor Guard Lightning Prediction System. As dangerous weather conditions approach, a continuous 15 second siren will sound, warning players to seek shelter immediately. Evacuation of the course and practice facility is mandatory during this time. Shelters are located on holes 5 and 13 at Shark’s Tooth and holes 5 and 12 at Camp Creek. When threatening conditions have passed an all clear signal of three short four second siren blasts will signal that play can continue. All Members and guests, however, are responsible for their own safety and protection from lightning, and therefore, shall cease play and seek protective shelter if they detect

lightning even if they do not hear siren blasts as it is possible that the Lightning Prediction System may malfunction from time to time. 16. Management may close the golf course to play at any time, in its sole and absolute discretion. 17. No beverage coolers are permitted on the golf course unless supplied by the Club or if the player has a medical condition that warrants use of a cooler. 18. “Discontinued Play” policy for inclement weather is as follows: a credit may be given by the Golf Professional on duty depending on the number of holes completed. It is the sole responsibility of the player to apply for a credit from the golf shop on the day play is discontinued. 19. Foursomes control the speed of play. Twosomes and threesomes should not expect to play through foursomes and should not exert any pressure on the groups ahead. Foursomes shall have the right of way. 20. Twosomes and singles will be grouped with other players, if available, at the discretion of the golf shop. Singles shall have no priority on the golf course and shall be permitted to play only at the discretion of the golf shop. Fivesomes are not permitted on the golf course without prior approval of golf shop personnel. 21. “Course closed” or “hole closed” signs are to be adhered to without exception. 22. The Club Operator reserves the right to accommodate requests to have outings from time to time. Notices of these outings will be posted indicating the hours during which the outing will take place.

HOURS OF PLAY The hours of play and golf shop hours will be posted in the golf shop for each golf course. The golf course superintendent is authorized to determine when the golf course is suitable for play. The decision of the golf course superintendent shall be final. In the absence of the golf course superintendent, the golf professional on duty shall make this decision.

Golf Starting Times 1. It is recommended that all players have a starting time reserved through the golf shop. The staff will assign the starting time depending on availability. 2. Starting times may be made by phone during normal business hours. Tee times can also be made online 24 hours in advance on The Clubs by JOE website – clubsbyjoe.com or mobile app. (You cannot create book tee times the day of online). 3. Starting time changes must be approved by the golf shop. Please notify the golf shop of any cancellations as soon as possible.

4. Players who fail to cancel their starting time twenty-four (24) hours prior to their scheduled starting time may be charged a no-show fee established by the Club Operator.

Registration 1. Failure to check in and register ten (10) minutes prior to a reserved starting time may cause cancellation, set back or a no-show fee to be charged to the Member’s Club Account. 2. Players late for their starting time lose their right to the starting time and shall begin play only at the discretion of the starter.

Practice Facility 1. The practice facility is open during normal operating hours as posted in the golf shop. The driving ranges will close 30 minutes before sunset so that the tees can be adjusted and range picked for the following days’ operation. 2. Practice balls are for use at the practice facility only and may not be removed from the practice facility. Practice balls may not be used on the golf course and will be charged to the Member account if he or she is caught using them. 3. Practice balls must be hit from the designated areas. No hitting is permitted from the rough or sides of the practice facility. 4. Golf carts are not permitted on any tee area. Golf carts must be parked in designated areas with all four tires on the paved parking area. 5. Proper golf attire is required on the practice facility. 6. No unauthorized lessons shall be permitted.

Golf Cart Rules 1. Golf carts shall not be used by a Member, immediate family member or Guest on the Club Facilities without proper assignment and registration in the golf shop. 2. The use of golf carts is mandatory when posted. 3. Golf carts may only be used on the golf course when the golf course is open for play. 4. The Club Operator may require that carts remain on cart paths to facilitate the grow-in of the golf course and based on course and weather conditions. Players will be informed of this policy prior to beginning play. 5. Each operator of a golf cart must be at least sixteen (16) years of age and have a valid automobile operator’s license or learner’s permit. Operators with a learner’s permit must be accompanied by an adult. 6. A maximum of two (2) persons and two (2) sets of golf clubs are permitted per golf cart, unless otherwise waived by the golf shop. 7. Golf cart operators must obey all golf cart traffic signs. 43

8. Golf carts must remain on any golf cart paths located on the course around the tee boxes and greens. Exceptions to the Club’s “cart on path only” policies for handicap golfers must be obtained from the golf shop staff. 9. Always use golf cart paths where provided, especially near tees and greens. 10. Never drive a golf cart through a hazard. 11. Be careful to avoid soft areas on fairways, especially after rains. Use the rough wherever possible. Always proceed down the edge of the fairways, except when going to the ball. Enter fairways at a ninety (90) degree angle when proceeding to ball. 12. Operation of a golf cart is at the risk of the operator. Persons who are or appear to be legally intoxicated may not operate a golf cart. Cost of repair to a golf cart which is damaged by a Member, immediate family member of a Member or their Guests will be charged to the Member. Members using a golf cart will be held fully responsible for any and all damages, including personal injury and property damage, that are caused by the operation of the golf cart by the Member, immediate family members and their Guests, and the Members shall reimburse the Club Owner, the Club Facilities Owner and/or the Club Operator for any and all damages they may sustain by reason of operation of the golf cart. 13. The Member using a golf cart accepts and assumes all responsibility for liability connected with operation of the golf cart. The Member also expressly indemnifies and agrees to hold harmless the Club Owner, the Club Facilities Owner, the Club Operator, their affiliates and their directors, officers, shareholders, partners, Members, managers, employees, representatives and agents, from any and all damages, whether direct or consequential, arising from or related to the use and operation of the golf cart by the Member, immediate family members and their Guests. 14. Violations of the golf cart rules may result in loss of golf cart privileges and/or playing privileges.

Handicaps 1. Handicaps are computed under the supervision of the golf professional in accordance with the current USGA Handicap System. 2. All Members and their Guests may be required to provide a USGA approved handicap for specific Club tournaments. All handicaps submitted may be reviewed by the handicap committee. 3. Members are responsible for turning in all their scores on a daily basis. Any Member failing to turn in a score shall result in score being posted that is equal to their lowest score on record. The pro shop shall assist any Members needing help with the posting.

4. Accurate records are to be kept of scores turned in and recorded for all full rounds played. The pro shop shall determine if there are violations by Members in turning in their scores. 5. The Club reserves the right to adjust handicaps for Club Tournament play. The Club also reserves the right to deny any Member entry into tournament play for handicap manipulation.

Golf Course Etiquette Persons using the golf facilities should do their part to make a round of golf at the Club a pleasant experience for everyone. Here are some suggestions: 1. Do not waste time. Anticipate the club or clubs you may need and go directly to your ball. Always be near your ball to play promptly when it is your turn. If a player is delayed in making a shot, it would be courteous for such player to indicate to another player to play which should not be deemed playing out of turn. 2. The time required to â&#x20AC;&#x153;hole outâ&#x20AC;? on and around the green is a chief cause of slow play. Study and clear the line of your putt while others are doing the same. Be ready to putt when it is your turn. 3. Be sociable, but reserve your extended conversations for the clubhouse after the round. 4. Players should ensure that greens are not damaged by putting down bags or the flagsticks and that the hole is not damaged by standing close to it or by removing the flagstick or the ball from the hole. The flagstick should be properly replaced in the hole before the players leave the green. No one should move, talk or stand close to or directly behind the ball or the hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke. 5. When approaching a green, park your golf cart on the cart path on the best direct line to the next tee, in order to save significant time. This can save about twenty (20) minutes per round. Never leave the golf cart in front of the green where you will have to go back to get it, while the following players wait for you to move on. 7. When play of a hole is completed, leave the green promptly and proceed to the next tee without delay. Do the scoring for the completed hole while the others in your group are playing from the next tee. 8. If you are not holding your place on the course (see General Golf Rules), allow the players behind to play through. Do the same if you stop to search for a lost ball. 9. The golf rangers will report slow play and all breaches of golf etiquette to the golf shop. Appropriate action will be taken by the golf shop personnel.

10. Repair your ball marks on the greens. If you see unrepaired ball marks repair them also. Remind your playing partners to observe this courtesy. 11. Enter and leave bunkers at the nearest level point to the green. Carefully rake bunkers after use and place the rake outside the bunker. 12. Any divots made in the fairways should be filled with sand contained in the sand buckets on the golf carts.
