When a giant feline appeared in front of me, the chill I felt became a lot stronger. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. As she spoke, I could hear her voice echoing through my ears, however, her mouth never moved.

“What is a living mortal doing in Soulswood? You’re not allowed here.”

She was ready to show me the exit. I had no intention to leave however, as I was determined to find my friend and bring him home.

I ran away from her, looking around to see if I could find an escape. Then I heard a whisper.

Her agility and fast reflexes enable her to quickly jump into action when needed and to switch between some things called Soulpods easily. These are energized capsules where souls are stored into.

Later I learned that Miryu is responsible for one of the most important tasks of Soulswood; she makes sure that returning souls are healed or laid to rest if this is no longer possible.

Lupos

I met Lupos, the creator of all souls, who slithered behind me like a snake. His eyes expressed both curiosity and confusion. I asked about Nago, and if I could find him here, but Lupos’ cryptic way of speaking and erratic movements made it hard to understand him.

Eventually he made it clear to me that Nago most likely would be in the Everfields, waiting for a new purpose.

I didn’t understand, so Lupos proceeded by showing me how souls were created and told me that once a soul has been born it must always return to Soulswood.

Guardian of Life

“It can have great consequences for both worlds if this cycle is disrupted.” Lupos told me.

“Souls are bound to this place and cannot stay in the mortal realm forever.”
