Foreverinour hearts...

WHEN I’M GONE

Release me, let me go. I have so Many things to see and do. You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you my love and you can only guess, How much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now it’s time I travelled on alone.

So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a while that we must part So bless the memories with in your heart.

I won’t be far away, for life goes on, So, if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near, and if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear all my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and say, welcome home.

Robert Charles White, Robert Charles White, IIII II

Robert Charles White III, affectionately known as Big Rob, was born on October 4, 1964, to James Long and Beverly McCullough.

Big Rob was born and raised in Durham, Damar Court to be exact; Big Rob grew up the oldest of 4. Syamada “DeeDee”, Shayna, and Frankie. Big Rob was never afraid to seek the most out of what life had to offer. In his earlier years, he held numerous jobs like a cook, and a cab driver, as he loved to cook and travel. He moved to Wilmington, NC over 20 years agowhere he was living his BEST life enjoying long hours as a longshoreman at the Port of Wilmington Local 1426. Robert is survived by his parents, his brother and sisters, his daughter, Alisha Tierra White, and the apple of his eye, his grandson, Kyzen “Ky” Amir White. He also leaves numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives spanning from the East Coast to the West. He was a protective father, strong-willed brother, and son. He was Big Rob. His towering height and big size, however; always paled in comparison to his infectious smile and hearty laughter. Until we see it again- Sleep well, Big Rob. We Love you.

Robert was blessed to have two bicoastal families. His father, James Long resides in California with his stepmother, Dorothy Long, and two sisters, Angela Long and Kimberly Long. His remaining family consisted of aunts, Delores Harper, Mary Harper, Mable Robinson, Uncle John Carr, and a host of cousins and friends

Robert’s visits always brought us joy and happiness He loved to cook, visit the casinos, go sightseeing, and every morning sit on the patio and enjoy the early mornings. We were blessed to have Robert with us this last Christmas of 2022. It was a family united, and we will cherish those memories forever.

We will grieve for Robert, however, are glad we had so many years together and will see him again in time. -The Long Family
