Youth Ministry Leader - Christ Church St Laurence Anglican Parish, Sydney
Christ Church St Laurence is a large, vibrant and diverse Anglican Parish. Although CCSL is renowned for its rich liturgical and musical tradition, the Parish is committed to the development of a comprehensive youth ministry program. Youth ministry currently consists of a weekly Sunday School (in term time), led by an enthusiastic and dedicated team of volunteer teachers. We are now seeking a youth ministry leader to assist in the development of a more diverse and extended program. The terms and conditions of this appointment are negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience. However, the Parish is hoping to appoint a youth minister initially for 2 days per week. The stipend payable would be approximately $25,000 per annum. The successful applicant will be a committed Christian with the ability to relate easily to children and young people. The Youth Ministry Leader will be expected to present the Christian Faith according to the doctrines of the Anglican Church of Australia, while supporting the diversity and traditions of CCSL. The successful applicant will work closely with the clergy and the current Sunday School co-ordinators, and will be expected to independently develop new programs and special events. The duties of the Youth Ministry Leader will not involve the teaching of Scripture in schools. CCSL adopts the Diocesan Safe Ministry policy in connection with all dealings with children. The appointed Youth Ministry Leader will be required to complete the Safe Ministry program and will possess the relevant Working with Children Check permit. The successful applicant will also be required to obtain a Lay Ministry Authorisation through the Anglican Diocese of Sydney.
