DONORS BY GIVING CATEGORY
In the 2018-2019 year, gifts to the Annual Fund (unrestricted), non-endowed scholarships (restricted) and specific programs (restricted) provided nearly 7% of St. Luke’s operating budget. These operational funds enable St. Luke’s to offer a breadth and depth of curricula, maintain competitive faculty salaries and provide the individualized student attention that is a hallmark of a St. Luke’s education. In addition to the Annual Fund, this section recognizes parents who gave to the 2019 Senior Gift. They are also listed in the Capital Projects section of this publication. George E. Stevens Horizons Prize Endowment Established in 2010, the Horizons Prize provides full scholarship support for a Horizons student each year for up to four year of high school. The intent of the prize is to inspire Horizons students to aspire to excellence at St. Luke’s School. Karen E. Wiegman ’92 Award Endowed Fund Established in 2005, this award honors the memory of Karen Wiegman ’92 who passed away in the spring of 2004, and is remembered most notably for embracing the St. Luke's community and incorporating its values and ideals into her own personal growth. The Wiegman Award is presented annually to a senior who has shown the most growth over their years at St. Luke's School. This growth is marked by social 53

Richard J. Pedrick Endowed Memorial Fund Established in 1995 in memory of Dick Pedrick, parent of four SLS students and dedicated board chair from 1989 until his death in 1995, the fund serves "to perpetuate, as a living memory, all that Dick Pedrick stood for." Pedrick award is given annually to a graduating senior who exemplifies leadership, dedication, intelligence, athletic participation, good sportsmanship, and love for his/her fellow human beings. S. Philip Klein Emerging Leader Award Endowed Fund This endowed fund was established in 2012 to recognize St. Luke’s students who are of good character and possess strong leadership potential. On an annual basis, an award recipient is presented with the opportunity to attend an Outward Bound program between his or her 9th and 10th grade years. The intent is that award recipients will challenge themselves, further personal growth and understanding, and learn leadership skills at an Outward Bound program that will benefit themselves, the St. Luke’s School community, and ultimately the larger world. Goldstone Faculty Enrichment Fund Supports Two “Dream Grants” in 2018-2019 Through an annual application process, St. Luke’s faculty may apply for supplemental funding to fulfill a personal dream. Middle School history teacher, Sarah Westerberg and her mother, who is second generation Lebanese, were able to visit Beirut this past summer, thanks to a grant from the Goldstone Faculty Enrichment Fund. Also, this summer, Upper School English teacher, Steve Flachsbart and his wife visited Greece, a dream he has had since he read The Odyssey (without SparkNotes!) in ninth grade.

Rotating Faculty Endowed Chair The Rotating Faculty Chair will recognize the diverse talent amongst the St. Luke’s faculty, and will serve a vital role in recruitment and retention. Its goal is to engage and involve the entire school community through educational, informational and social events.
