WE INVITE YOU TO SHAPE THE FUTURE OF ST. LUKE’S SCHOOL
WHEN?
Now is the time. St. Luke’s has never been stronger. Happy students. High parent and alumni satisfaction. A beautiful, well-maintained campus. A growing endowment. Robust admissions demand shows that families seeking an above and beyond experience—in a welcoming and inclusive community—have put St. Luke’s at the top of their list. Now is the time to leverage our success. You can play a lead role in charting St. Luke’s future for the next five years and beyond.
GOAL: Attract, retain, and inspire exceptional teachers… How can we best prepare our students for a rapidly shifting, demanding, and competitive world? Consider two facts: • 94% of respondents to the Young Alumni Survey ranked relationships with teachers as the most highly valued aspect of their St. Luke’s education. • A 2012 Rand research study found that teachers matter more to student achievement than any other aspect of schooling. Teachers are at the heart of everything we do. They go above and beyond to ignite imaginations and engage and challenge bright minds. They consider each student’s strengths, passions, and learning style, instilling a lifelong love of learning. Our future depends on our ability to attract, retain, and inspire exceptional teachers who have a passion for teaching and care deeply about students. The Momentum Campaign will ensure that St. Luke’s students will benefit from a forward-thinking faculty within a dynamic learning environment.

HOW?
Invest in our teachers. Investing in faculty means focusing on what matters most to them. What do they value? What brings deep professional satisfaction? What enables them to be exceptional teachers?
“When you invest in exceptional teachers, your investment will be repaid many times over. M A R K D AV I S HEAD OF SCHOOL

II. Environment Great teaching and learning happen in an environment that suits learning goals. The recently completed Science Wing and Black Box Theater underscore how spaces can transform learning. Research also demonstrates a direct correlation between school design and improved academic outcomes. In this final phase of the master facilities plan, large new spaces—infused with natural light—will expand the main academic building, breathing energy and new possibilities for learning into the humanities, the visual arts, the library, and designLab. In these dynamic spaces, faculty and students will develop their creativity, their research skills, and their capacity to explore, collaborate, and problem solve. And of course, environment includes more than physical spaces. It encompasses the emotional wellbeing of the people who work and interact at St. Luke’s, and who will feel the impact of working for a secure, sustainable organization within a diverse, compassionate community.

WHY?
To ensure the best student outcomes. The world our students will enter as adults will look strikingly different from the world in which we grew up. To give students the tools to succeed—now, during their crucial developmental years—the St. Luke’s of 2020 needs to lead the way through a distinctive blend of tradition and innovation. By attracting, retaining, and inspiring exceptional teachers, the School will power its proven liberal-arts, college-prep curriculum with programs, ideas, and spaces designed to deepen learning, build engagement, and enhance student outcomes.
JOIN US. Our donors have proven over and over again that everything is possible at St. Luke’s. Our goal is big.
