MULTIWAY STOLE Repeating panels of lace stitches in delicate Rowan Kidsilk Haze and Fine Lace held together, give this versatile stole its special character, and its button fastenings allow you to ring the changes as a shrug, poncho, cape, and vest (see How to Wear, page 102). See pattern, page 56.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL DESIGN This design for the Multiway stole was planned with different ways to wear it, with buttons as part of the design—see Diagram 1 on page 57 (see pattern, page 56).
1 LOOSE Here, the scarf is unbuttoned and shown laying flat, simply draped around the neck.
2 SHRUG Button together A and C, then do the same with B and D. These now form “sleeves” so you can wear it as a shrug.
3 CAPE Place the stole “every which way” around your shoulders and button A and B at the front.
4 PONCHO Fasten A and B at the front of your body, along with as many buttons of C and D as you need to create a comfortable fit.
5 BOLERO Wrap the stole “every which way” around your neck and fasten a few buttons to hold in position.
