INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY AND SOCIOLOGY

(This course is available to students in both Years 9 and 10. It may be selected for either one or both semesters. The content in each semester is different.)

To be successful in this course you need to: • be interested in human behaviour • be able to communicate well, both in written and oral work.

In this course you will: • be introduced to the disciplines of psychology and sociology through various modules such as The Brain, Forensic Psychology, Society and Culture, and Socialisation • become familiar with some of the famous studies in psychology and sociology.

Class activities include: • documentaries and discussions • investigating case studies and experiments • text-based work.
