Sister Vincenza, graduated from the hospital’s nursing program in 1922 and worked at St. Michael’s from 1928 until 1956 as the supervisor of obstetrics.

St. Michael’s Hospital began its 3 year RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) Candidacy in 2009 - 2012. In 2012, St. Michael’s Hospital was awarded BPSO designation by the RNAO during Nursing Week.
Over the course of our BPSO designation term (2012-2017) St. Michael’s Hospital… • Implemented a total of 31 RNAO Best Practice Guideline (BPGs) • 60 BPG initiatives have been led by BPG Nurse Champions and teams across the hospital • Hosted 3 international BPSO visitors from Australia, Chile and Columbia to learn from St. Michael’s BPSO journey • 26 nurses presented BPG work externally at national and international conferences
