BLING IN THE NEW YEAR! WITH SWAROVSKI
For big milestones and small treasured moments – and especially the upcoming party season – the team at Swarovski has you covered.
The event season is fast approaching, what type of accessory trends are you expecting to see a lot of ? Lately the trends have been all about color and vibrancy. Everywhere I look I am seeing beautiful bright greens, pinks, yellows, and oranges. A lot of our new collection has featured some of these gorgeous bright tones, which are either great to mix and match with other complementary colours, or create a monochromatic look with different shades of the one color.
What are your top tips when it comes to styling Swarovski pieces? Be yourself! The beautiful thing about our product is that there is always something for everyone, and selecting pieces that are complementary to your personality and personal style are the best way to wear something with confidence.
What qualities do you look for in the perfect piece of jewellery ? Versatility is one of the most important features to me as it means I am able to wear one piece in many different ways, for different occasions. What I find so great about a lot of our pieces is that they are designed with this in mind. Many of our necklaces can be joined together to create a totally different look, similarly with our Orbita collection, you can swivel the pendant, ring or drop earring around to reveal a different color and ultimately, a different look. This not only highlights the craftsmanship of the pieces but is great value for money, too.

MUSTARD CREAM SAUCE
Create the perfect accompaniment for your roast with this easy recipe. Simply boil chicken stock until half reduced, add double cream and bring to boil, then add whole grain mustard and season with salt and pepper. You want your crispy pork to be ‘sliceable’ in order for it to be the perfect roast. Achieve this by cooking at a low temperature first before powering up to maximum heat! Tip
FRESH IS BEST
TIMBER TONES
For a slightly more rustic approach to your table styling, incorporate plenty of timber bowls, salad servers, and chopping boards from Adairs, Bed Bath N’ Table or David Jones. This aesthetic will leave your table feeling relaxed and welcoming – simply pare back with plenty of linen napery and mis-matched servingware to create the ultimate eclectic setting.
Tip:
Believe it or not, the secret to this crispy crackling is to NOT score the skin!

Slow roasted pork belly
SERVES COOK TIME 4 4hrs
INGREDIENTS
1.5kg boneless pork belly
2 tbsp thyme leaves
Pinch of fennel Sea salt flakes Olive oil
METHOD
First things first, do not score your pork belly. If time permits, let the skin dry out overnight on an uncovered plate in the fridge – if you don’t have time, pat the skin dry with paper towel.
Preheat your oven to 220ºC. Season the skin of the pork belly with fennel, thyme leaves, sea salt, and a drizzle of oil.
Roast for 30 minutes on 220ºC and then reduce oven temperature to 170ºC and roast for a further three hours, or until pork is tender and cooked through and the skin has crisped up nicely.
Remove from oven and leave to rest for 20 minutes before carving and serving. Enjoy!

DIY advent calendar
YOU WILL NEED:
Twine or string
Red ribbon
12 x hessian loot bags
Artificial garland
12 x gift tags (numbered 1-12) Goodies and gifts to add inside (we used chocolates!)
A piece of sturdy bamboo
Your choice of decorations and lights
Eco-friendly
The best part about this DIY is its sustainability factor
METHOD:
STEP ONE: First and foremost, attach the red ribbon to the bamboo – this will create the hanging element of the advent calendar.
STEP TWO: Time to get decorating! Wrap the artificial leaf garland around the bamboo, ensuring that the bamboo is completely covered with foliage.
STEP THREE: Add a festive flair with decorative berries, flowers, and fairy lights. Tip: be sure to stick to a colour scheme that matches the rest of your Christmas décor!
STEP FOUR: Attach the numbered gift tags to the hessian loot bags and use twine to tie them onto the bamboo pillar. Tip: use various lengths of twine to create depth between the loot bags.
STEP FIVE: For the final step simply add a selection of sweet treats into the loot bags –you can get creative with this and add anything from chocolates and wrapped lollies to small knick-knacks and ornaments! The best part is you can reuse it next year and fill the bags with new items.
