Non-Hanoverian High Score Mares I

HV have open
studbooks that permit the inspection and possible acceptance
of non-Hanoverian mares into the Hanoverian breeding program. In 2020, 56 such mares were presented to the AHS for studbook approval. This year, five Arabians and 10 Thoroughbreds presented, of which nine were accepted into the Hanoverian Studbook and six accepted into the Rhineland Studbook. In addition to pedigree approval, eligible warmblood mares of outside (i.e. non-Hanoverian) populations are required to score an overall 7.0 or better for entry into the AHS Main Studbook, unless they could have been registered Hanoverian as a foal, in which case an overall score of 6.0 is required. This standard ensures that the AHS accepts only the very best mares from these outside studbooks. The required score was achieved by 31 of the 56 nonHanoverian warmblood mares inspected by the AHS in 2020. Eleven mares were accepted to the ARS Main Studbook.
