Applications are now being accepted for Membership on the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The volunteer leadership of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce provides the energy and direction for programs and services for our members. Board members serve a vital role in establishing policy and providing guidance to committees and staff. To ensure a quality Board, the Chamber seeks membership from dedicated Chamber members who concur with and will commit to the following requirements: • Attend Board meetings which are held the fourth Thursday of each month at 4 pm. Only three unexcused absences per year are allowed. • Are expected to serve on at least one Chamber committee in addition to the Board. • Attend the annual planning session and participate in the development of the upcoming year’s goals and expectations. • Assume responsibility for expenses for official Chamber meetings. • Become familiar and informed with Chamber programs and benefits. • Commit to sponsoring one new member per year by actively promoting the benefits of Chamber membership. • Attend Chamber functions and serve as a liaison between the membership they represent and the Board. Visit our website www.StocktonChamber.org for an application to submit to CEO Doug Wilhoit. Deadline is January 31, 2010.

settlers arrived to the present day. After our history overview, Tod guided the class through the entire museum explaining the history of the museum and its contents. Just before lunch, the class boarded a Trolley, courtesy of San Joaquin RTD, for a trip downtown. Joining us on the bus ride was Paul Rapp (LS Class of ’05), with San Joaquin RTD and Cultural Heritage Board and Dr. Wesley Swanson, San Joaquin Delta College professor and Cultural Heritage Board. Our first stop was a few of the historic buildings and hotels in the downtown area. Then it was off to the Magnolia Historic District. The tour of the district included stops at some of the areas most beautiful homes. Upon our return to the museum we were welcomed by Stockton Civic Theatre volunteer Dorothy Mulvihill who reviewed the history of the Stockton Civic Theatre, as well as the upcoming performances for the community to enjoy. The day finished with Maestro Peter Jaffe from the Stockton Symphony. Peter spoke of the long history of the Stockton Symphony (third oldest continuously operating symphony in California), and previewed the upcoming season. The class was jazzed to hear Peter play a few pieces from the upcoming year. A big THANK YOU to the following: Judy Rodriguez (LS Class of 2008), Loretta Lee (LS Class of 2009)

Bring an unwrapped new toy for donation to the Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Joaquin County and enter a drawing for Outback Steakhouse gift cards. This time of year there is a tremendous amount of additional materials going to the landfill. What can we do as business leaders and residents of San Joaquin County to curb this trend?
