Leadership Dynamics Session Leadership Level Sponsor: Financial Center Credit Union Session Sponsor: San Joaquin County Office of Education Leadership Stockton kicked off the 2009-2010 Class with a successful day-long Leadership Dynamics session hosted at the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE). The goal of the session was for participants to learn more about themselves and their classmates, through a variety of teambuilding exercises, activities and discussions. Thank you to Chamber CEO Doug Wilhoit and members of the Leadership Stockton Alumni Association board of directors for their inspirational welcome. Thank you to Rob Kroff, Venture On Challenge Course facilitator, for leading the class through a variety of exercises that kept the group moving, laughing, and getting to know each other better. Thank you to Shannon Leonardini and Deuree Noel (LS Class of ‘04) with University of Phoenix for their “Achieving Peak Performance” presentation. The Class found the exercise to be surprisingly accurate, eye-opening and lots of fun.

What is the next best thing to playing golf? For some it’s reading about golf. So it’s not strange to find that avid golfer Rick Goucher recently immersed himself in “What’s Your Caddy?”, the best-selling-book by Rick Reilly who chronicles his misadventures as a rookie caddy for some of the most marquee names on the professional golf circuit. Members of the Stockton business community who know Goucher aren’t surprised by his reading choice. They say that this newly elected president of Stockton’s Chamber of Commerce has a penchant for wanting to know all there is to know about a topic, whether it’s the business of golf or the business of leveraging businesses.

Leaving no stone unturned Stockton Chamber’s CEO Doug Wilhoit echoes that sentiment: “Rick understands the needs of business and has the courage and drive to leave no stone unturned. He makes sure that decision-makers are aware of the importance of doing it right the first time and if not he
