YOU DON’T PROFIT FROM SICK EMPLOYEES. WHY DOES YOUR HEALTH PROVIDER? In an industry built on fee-for-service care, Kaiser Permanente succeeds because we’re built around prevention and the highest quality care. One Harvard Business Review article described our care as “untainted by any economic conflict of interest.”* And in an industry report by The Economist, Kaiser Permanente’s care was described as promoting economy and quality care with “no financial motive to order unnecessary procedures.”† To learn more about Kaiser Permanente, call 1-800-464-4000 or visit kp.org/choosebetter.

The format this year will be slightly different in order to showcase those various initiatives. Instead of hearing just
from the mayor, the mayor has generously offered some of that time to Police Chief Eric Jones who will provide a quick update on the Marshall Plan process and to the new City Manager, Kurt Wilson, who will provide an update on the status of the bankruptcy proceedings as well as address other issues of interest. I also encourage everyone to come early to network and check out all of the booths provided by our valuable sponsors. Your Chamber will be providing another reason to become a member with its new SAVE LOCAL NOW program. Save Local Now is a platform for businesses to market by delivering their self-promotion to their customers through mobile technology. For example, your business will be able to offer deals and event on your terms to your customers. I encourage everyone to check it out. Everyone should take some time to attend the Chamber mixer on May 1 at The Stockton Civic Theatre. I hope to see you there.
