“Going green doesn’t start with doing green acts, It’s a shift in consciousness.” - Ian Somerhalder March is Green month, and this issue of Port O Call shines the spotlight on Ecologic, a local paper bottle manufacturer, and all of the great things they’re doing. I took a look at their website and their mission statement basically sums it up in one sentence: “Ecologic Brands is dedicated to creating a more sustainable world through better packaging choices.” Find out more in this issue! REXPO ROCKS is Mar. 13 at the Waterloo Gun & Bocce Club. REXPO has been a part of our community for more than 15 years, hosted by The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce. Our award winning Green Team San Joaquin program, led by Frank Ferral, has worked with a number of businesses in our community to build awareness around the importance of sustainability and going green, with the goal of helping our environment, while reducing their cost of doing business. A win for all! Green business is smart business and what a great time to become a Chamber member. We can help with your application to be green certified and also work with you on how you can incorporate green practices in your business to become more efficient. One last thing, Mar. 17 is St. Patrick’s Day. Support our local Chamber restaurant members and join in the celebration!
