Depending on your circumstances we may be able to offer your course at a discounted fee or in some cases free, or you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan (see below for details). ADVANCED LEARNER LOANS
If you are planning to study a level 3-6 further education course or Access to Higher Education programme you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. Students can apply for a loan to meet the upfront costs of their qualification, which will be paid directly to the College on their behalf. This is a great way to access courses, which previously may have been out of reach for financial reasons. Things you need to know: • • • • • • • •
You need to be a UK resident and aged over 19 Advanced Learner Loans are not means tested or credit checked Funds are paid directly to the learning provider Minimum amount £300 (maximum depends upon the course chosen) You must enrol on an eligible course Bursaries may be available for extra support for childcare* Applications for courses starting in September can be made online with the Students Loans Company from April Repayments only start when earning an annual salary of £25k or more. This loan application is a credit agreement between you and the Student Loans Company

HOW WE’LL SUPPORT YOU We want all of our students to enjoy their time at Stockton Riverside College, so we offer a range of services to make sure you’ll always feel comfortable and supported. If you need help in or out of the classroom, just ask.
SAFEGUARDING AND WELFARE
We prioritise your safety at all times. We have a Safeguarding and Welfare Team with dedicated safeguarding roles at all of our College sites. We can offer advice and support to ensure that help can be sought from external agencies to enable the best outcomes for our students’ safety and overall wellbeing. If you should feel unsafe or feel you need to access support we are here to make sure you are heard and safe at all times.
LEARNING SUPPORT
Our Learning Support Team are dedicated to making sure our learners receive the support they need. We can arrange a support interview and make sure the appropriate support is put in place. Our aim is to make sure our learners are respected and cared for as individuals and are encouraged and supported to reach their potential at all times. Learning support services include support for students who are visually impaired, have a hearing impairment, those with mobility issues, dyslexia, 30
