ADVANCED LEARNER LOAN

If you’re aged 19 or over and starting a course at Level 3 to 6 this year, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help cover the cost of your course fees. It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there’s no credit check. Plus you won’t have to pay anything back until your income is over £21,000 a year. The amount you can get depends on your course, the fees charged and maximum amounts set by the government. The minimum loan amount is £300. These loans don’t cover degrees or other forms of Higher Education. You can take out a loan for the maximum amount to cover your fee or you can pay all or part of the fee yourself. SUCCESS Name: Cathrine Course: Supporting Teaching and Learning

Choosing to study Supporting Teaching and Learning at Stockton Riverside College proved the launch pad for a whole new career for Cathrine. The Stockton mum found that she loved learning and progressed to a Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce and ultimately a Foundation Degree. Now working in learning and support, Cathrine said her advice to anyone thinking of returning to education would be: “If you want to progress in life anything is possible.”
