Performing Arts (Acting) The Margaret Armstrong Theatre Wed 29th March, 7pm A show about the details that are often overlooked in everyday life, influenced by fundamental British values. Acting students have devised this play to tour around local schools, stopping off for this one public performance. Tickets £8/£5

Musical Theatre Fundraiser

Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) The Margaret Armstrong Theatre Thurs 30th March, 7pm Come along and enjoy an evening of entertainment with our BTEC Musical Theatre students who will perform a variety of work which they have been working on over the past term. This will include song, dance, and drama and the proceeds of this show will help fund the students’ summer production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats the Musical. This is our most ambitious project to date and we appreciate your support. Tickets £7

Playhouse Creatures by April De Angelis FdA/BA Hons Performing Arts

The Margaret Armstrong Theatre Wed 26th April, 7.30pm Thurs 27th April, 7.30pm mat 2pm Fri 28th April, 7.30pm The year is 1669 and London’s theatres have just reopened after 17 years of suppression under the Puritans. The first English actresses appear on the stage and their arrival is greeted with the same level of excitement given to today’s celebrities. Through the fortunes of Nell Gwynn, Elizabeth Farley, Rebecca Marshall, Doll Common and Mary Betterton we learn the precarious lot of Restoration Actresses. Accompanied by a live score from contemporary female artists, with everything from Lady Gaga to Dolly Parton. Tickets £8/£6

Performing Arts (Musical Theatre) Margaret Armstrong Theatre Wed 14th – Sat 17th June, 7.30pm (mat Sat 17th June, 2pm) We are delighted to announce that this year’s Musical Theatre summer production will be the award winning musical Cats. Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot, Cats provides some of the most exciting song and dance numbers in musical theatre history and has been a smash hit in the West End and Broadway for many years. Both technically and physically demanding for our students we do hope you will come along and support what is one of our most exciting projects to date. Tickets £12/£10

The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe Performing Arts (Acting)

Margaret Armstrong Theatre Tues 27th – Wed 28th June, 7pm (mat Wed 28th June, 1pm) Journey with us to Narnia; an enchanting land where mythical creatures roam, animals speak and the cold-hearted White Witch makes every day winter. Meet the adorable Mr Tumnus and his friends, as they team up to fulfil an ancient prophecy, defeat the witch, restore sunshine and peace to the spell-bound land and return the great lion Aslan to his throne. Production Arts & Acting Film Premiere Film and TV Production

Margaret Armstrong Theatre Thurs 29th June Walk the red carpet and prepare for the VIP experience as we present the premiere of our Film and TV students’ final projects. Screening a series of short films, this is your chance to be first to see some of the work of those we believe could be the industry’s upcoming talent. Bringing our students’ ideas to life on screen, the showreels demonstrate the technical skills learned. They also feature performances from our Performing Arts Acting students and makeup and special effects from students on our Production Arts Makeup for Media and Performance course. Tickets £3.50

Performing Arts Exploring Creative Arts Level 1 One Year This course offers an introduction to a range of creative skills including Performing Arts, Creative Media and Art and Design. Performance Level 2 One Year Develop the skills and confidence you need to make you shine in this competitive industry. Performing Arts Musical Theatre Level 3 Two Years Working on your singing, dancing and acting skills this course is an exciting stepping stone for those hoping to pursue a future career in the industry. Performing Arts Higher Education Foundation Degree in Performing Arts Two years This course, delivered in partnership with Teesside University, will help you to further develop the skills you need to build a career in performing arts. Building on your performance skills you will gain technical knowhow backstage and gain a working knowledge of the wider industry.

BA Hons Performing Arts (Top-up) One Year Today’s production industries demand highly trained, professional practitioners. After successful completion of the FdA in Performing Arts, this additional year of study offers the opportunity to top-up to a full BA Hons degree.

production Arts Production Arts Makeup for Media and Performance Level 3 One year (two year option) Develop the skills needed to work behind the scenes on this course which will teach you specialist makeup and special effect techniques for theatre, TV, film, photography and the catwalk.

Production Arts Costume and Stage Design Level 3 One Year This course will enable you to develop the skills you need to work behind the scenes. It will focus on stage design, lighting, costume and prop design.
