Welcome to The Fox and Hounds, a 350-year-old, 17th century Grade two listed pub that has been beautifully restored to give the perfect balance between a traditional pub and a modern, ever-changing seasonal menu that is quite simply outstanding. Set up in the rolling hills of the wonderful rural location of Barley, this superb dining pub has a feel of class and elegance, whilst maintaining a soft family feel – something special for locals and visitors alike.

The Fox and Hounds and acclaimed Head Chef Bret Barnes have created an incredible reputation in such a small space of time, featuring in the Michelin Star Guide, nominated for Best Newcomer Gastro Pub, and recognised as Outstanding in the Diners Choice awards.

Thinking Local – The unique menu uses traditional cooking methods such as smoking, grilling, and curing taking advantage of the vast array of delicious local produce, adding to their beautiful flavours and local economy. Following the latest easing of restrictions, the Summer Of ’21 will surely go down in history as the Summer Of Love, where people are reunited with the ones loved ones and the outside space at the Fox, provides the perfect stage for an outdoor family get together. During the summer months, you can make the most of the beautifully presented outdoor sun terrace, outdoor bar and childrens play ares. Since we opened, we have tried to keep a wellbalanced menu, where we utilise local and seasonal produce to keep the menu moving forward, challenging ourselves to inspire our guests and give them a reason to keep coming back.”
