Starting in the warehouse, Chris focused on various tasks, such as handling deliveries, managing inventory, and more. He quickly progressed from being a warehouse operative to working in returns, and then into sales support, where he gained his first significant exposure to IT. His in-depth knowledge of Storm’s products, acquired during his time in the warehouse, made him an asset as a sales support specialist. This was the first step on his path to becoming an Account Director.

Chris started his journey with
Storm Technologies in 2005, transitioning from being a TNT delivery driver to a member of the Storm family. His friends who worked at Storm played a significant role in guiding him towards this new opportunity. Chris began by spending his lunch breaks at Storm, and it didn’t take long for him to make an impression. One day, John Brooker, CEO, noticed Chris’ frequent visits and asked the pivotal question: “Are you looking for a job?” Chris responded with an enthusiastic “YES,” and his journey with Storm began.
Chris reflected on one of his most significant achievements: transforming a small sales support team of three members into a thriving department of 20. This growth marked a fundamental moment in his career, and he took pride in seeing team members who had since advanced to become successful account managers. Chris believes in being a true partner to his customers rather than just an order taker. He actively engages with customers, offering alternatives and advice to ensure they make informed decisions. When faced with complex queries, he leverages the expertise of Storm’s specialised teams to provide comprehensive solutions. ADVICE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF Chris encourages those looking to pursue a career like his own to work hard, continuously learn, and embrace the fast-paced nature of the IT industry. Taking risks and having the drive to pursue something different could lead to rewarding opportunities.
