STORYTILES

ABOUT STORYTILES StoryTiles creates art on tiles, wood and cards. Every design features humorous details, in which classical concepts contrast with modern elements.

StoryTiles is an Amsterdam based brand.

All products are artisanally crafted and produced in the Netherlands. The company was founded in 2013 and has over 300 points of sale all over the world.

StoryTiles made its debut as design platform in September 2016. For the first time in the StoryTiles history, Marga van Oers - the former only StoryTiles designer hands on the torch to other artists.

HOW IT IS MADE Ceramic tiles have been made in and around Delft, The Netherlands, since the 16th century. StoryTiles continues the tradition by creating miniature art-on-tiles.

All tiles are baked in traditional Dutch ovens at a high temperature. Each product is unique, as it is hand baked and designed.

WINTER WON DERL AND ABOUT THE COLLECTION For this bear themed collection Marga van Oers focused on movement. Movement of snow, ice blocks and wildlife. By playing with different materials and textures and putting it in a different context, a nature shaped scenery appeared.

With elements such as wool and acrylics she imitated an ice cold winter-like portrait.

HORSE AND HOUND ABOUT THE COLLECTION Get ready and set to all horse enthusiasts and dog lovers out there. For this Horse and Hound collection Marga van Oers will take you up for a sporty trip.

Inspired by typical British equestrian events from the fifties, she created a majestic sport spectacle combined with modern elements. The designs are a mix of bright coloured patterns and pompous animals from paintings of the Rijksmuseum. A collection filled with award-winning designs in which speed and class are the main events.

CARNAVAL FIESTA ABOUT THE COLLECTION An abundance of feathers combined with extravagant colours. With influences from Moroccan patterns mixed with typical Parisian show dancers from the fifties, an involving spectacle appears. Marga van Oers created a multicultural fiesta, by bringing these design elements together in the heart of a Brazilian carnival.

SWEE T SLUMBER ABOUT THE COLLECTION For the first time in Marga van Oers’ designs she used a different perspective, a bird’seye view on this sleep fest. From above you will see how she experimented with new materials. Creating the perfect background for a diversity of sleeping positions.

The patterns of Old Dutch bedding and classical certificate paper are the perfect ingredients for an old-fashioned bedcover.

Close your eyes and start a dreamy night.

THE FIEP WES TEND ORP COL L EC TION ABOUT THE COLLECTION After a great success Marga van Oers again unites the illustrations of Fiep Westendorp with Delft blue designs. This time she got carried away in her wild boyish tricks. From an expedition as a knight on horseback to hours of tub time to be spotless again (even behind the ears). The huge diversity of illustrations by Fiep Westendorp creates enough inspiration for a peek in the fantasy world of boys and tough girls.

Fiep Westendorp (1916-2004) was and still is the most famous Dutch female Illustrator.

She created characters well-known to all children. Last year in celebration of her 100 th anniversary, the collaboration between illustrations by Fiep Westendorp and StoryTiles has begun.

MUSEUM COL L ABOR ATION ABOUT THE COLLECTION StoryTiles has been asked by The Van Gogh Museum & The Rijksmuseum to unite the paintings of famous masters with the tiles.

Marga van Oers, designer of StoryTiles, brought the museum’s paintings to life in her designs.

The museum designs are the ideal opportunity for visitors to bring elements of the museum home with them, making it the perfect museum gift.

ABOUT STUDIO STUDIO STORYTILES

LICENSE COLL ABORATION

Studio StoryTiles consists of a group of Dutch designers under Marga van Oers’s wings. Together they create the most beautiful StoryTiles designs.

StoryTiles started licensed collaborations with multiple foundations. From museums such as the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum to cooperations with the Fiep Westendorp Foundation.

StoryTiles Studio can create your own company piece of art to impress your partners! A unique limited design as promotional gift, end-of-year present or give-away, anything is possible.

Our designers are happy to help with a customized art piece combined with sticker, box and card.

INTERIOR PROJECTS Create a custom interior with StoryTiles.

With our modern ceramic techniques all concepts are possible, tiles can be baked in all colours and with all effects. The tiles can be baked as one-offs, limited editions or divided into multiple tiles.

We offer bespoke designs for all possible spaces: homes, offices, restaurants, hotels and bars. The tiles are UV, heat and water resistant, and the unique designs will last a lifetime.

For these license holders Marga van Oers, head of design, created custom products by uniting the designs with famous collections.

A unique opportunity for visitors and fans to bring elements of the excisting art work home.

HANGING SYSTEM The StoryTiles products; StoryTiles, StoryWood and the Mini Tiles come with a nifty hanging system.

The StoryTiles can be attached with a simple nail on the wall. The Mini Tiles have an integrated magnet and an applicable hanging system. StoryWood has an integrated hanging system which makes it easy to hang your art piece flat on the wall.
