Together with Satchells Estate Agents, the Stotfold News Magazine are once again proud to present this award to some extra special Christmas Heroes from within our local community.
We were astounded by the volume of entries that we have received again this year and we would like to thank everyone that took the time to send in their nominations.
The award for this year’s Stotfold Christmas Hero was a unanimous decision, receiving more nominations than we have ever received before!! We are delighted to present this year’s Christmas Hero Award to joint winners Linda Preston and Sue Dunne.
Linda and Sue received a record number of nominations for their tireless efforts in helping to keep Stotfold tidy. If you happen to be up early and out and about the town, then you most certainly would have seen these ladies in their reflective jackets litter picking in and around Stotfold. Referred to as he ‘wonderful ladies in the yellow jackets’ by many of the people nominating them, both Linda and Sue are out every morning dong their bit for Stotfold whilst most people are still tucked up warm in their beds! We think you would agree, they are both very deserving of a special treat this year, as our way of saying thank you to them both on behalf of the whole of the Stotfold community.
We congratulate all of our nominees for the 2022. The volume of nominations received and the wonderful stories that we have read just go to show how many people within our community are willing to give to others and fully deserve the title of ‘Hero’ in many, many ways.
Our wonderful 2022 Christmas Hero Winners both received luxury Christmas hamper to enjoy, kindly donated by Satchells Estate agents.
Thank you to everybody who has taken the time to nominate their Christmas Hero this year, we really wish we could have picked more than just one winner!!!

Fabulous Festive Fun in Stotfold..
Christmas in Stotfold was once again a time for celebration as many of our local groups and organisations came together to welcome in the festive fun.
On November the 26th, Christmas kicked off in Stotfold with the Stotfold Town Council Christmas Light switch on event, which was enjoyed by many. Ice-skating, Christmas market stalls, refreshments, storytime with Santa and more, ensured that there was lots of fun to be had by all. The town Christmas Lights were switched on by Stotfold Mayor Cllr Steve Buck, Stotfold’s Great British Bake Off 2022 contestant Dawn Hollyoak and competition winners Halle and Cooper.
On Sunday 4th December Stotfold Churches Together hosted a wonderful carol service in the beautiful setting of St Mary’s churchyard, welcoming many families and residents to join in with some traditional carol singing to see in the start of the festivities season.
Sunday 4th December also saw one of Stotfold’s most loved traditions the Silverbirch Avenue Christmas Light Switch on take place, with many people gathering to enjoy the countdown and refreshments kindly laid on by residents of the street. Donations of almost £100 were collected for the Need Project once again this year. Thank you to all involved.
