30 November – 2 December 2015, STOU administrators led by Assoc. Prof. President for Planning and Research, together with 11 STOU administrators and Conference of the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU2015) under the Distance Learning (ODL)”, hosted by the Open University Malaysia (OUM) held in Kuala Lu Kuala Lumper, Malaysia.

Moreover, in the afternoon of 29 November 2015, STOU administrators made a Assoc. Prof. Dr. Richard Ng, Group Marketing Director of OUM, gave warm welcome. This knowledge and exchanging useful information with OUM. In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Richa “OUM Marketing”.

celebrate the 88rd Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King on 5 December 2015 held the event “Bike for Dad 2015” in honor of the King’s birthday and to express their loyalty to the King. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn was accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Bhajara Kittiyabha and

Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana led thousands of cyclists in the cycling event on 11 December 2015 at 3 pm, which held in every province in Thailand. The 29-kilometre cycling distance was divided into three sections: the first section covering seven kilometers from the starting point at the Royal Plaza to

Chulalongkorn University; the second section from Chulalongkorn University to the Royal Thai Navy’s auditorium for a distance of 14 kilometers; and the third section of eight kilometers from the Royal Thai Navy’s auditorium back to the Royal Plaza.

On

19 October 2015, Prof. Dr. Siriwan Sripahol, STOU Vice-President for Academic Affairs presided over the opening ceremony of the 35 Inter-University Conference hosted by STOU and ASAIHL Thailand. The theme of the conference was

“Education Access and Excellence”. The participants around the country registered for the conference. Attendees included educational professional from both government and private universities. The objective of the conference was to select a country report and a research paper, which will be presented at ASAIHL Conference to be held at Build Bright University, Siem Reap,

Cambodia on December 2 - 4, 2015. The first keynote speaker was Assoc. Prof. Yuen Poovarawan, Special Advisor of Office of Computer Services, Kasetsart University, who gave a presentation on “Effective Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century”. Following this was another keynote speech on “Educational Access and Excellence”, delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chailerd Pichitpornchai, President of ASAIHL Thailand and STOU President. Besides the paper presentation, the participants visited the Educational Broadcasting Production Center and the Library where they exchanged information and experiences with STOU staff.

khothai Thammathirat Open University and SEAMEO Regional Open Learning Centre (SEAMOLEC) conducted a joint face to face training on “English as a Foreign Language Teachers’ Capacity Building: Creating Digital Story through Project Based Learning Model” by Ms. Anti Rismayanti, SEAMOLEC Research and Development Manager, Ms. Finita Dewi, SEAMOLEC Expert and Ms. Aline Almandha, Content Officer from 9 to 11 November 2015 at Computer Training Room I, Service Building I at STOU in Nonthaburi. This training covered creating a short digital storytelling based on the participants’ context and a simple project plan, and doing a micro teaching in order to foster integrated capacity development for EFL (English as a foreign language) teachers on innovative teaching method, technology literacy as well as English proficiency.

In this regard, Asst. Prof. Dr. Monwipa Wongrujira, Assistant to the President, presided over the closing ceremony and gave certificates to 22 EFL teachers from secondary schools in Bangkok and suburb.

STOU President represented Thailand at the 18th SEAMOLEC

On 6-8 October 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chailerd Pichitpornchai, President of STOU, represented Thailand at the 18th SEAMEO Regional Open Learning Centre (SEAMOLEC) Governing Board Meeting and International Seminar at Jakarta, the Republic of Indonesia.

President of STOU joined the ASAIHL 60th Conference On 2 - 4 December 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chailerd Pichitpornchai, President of STOU, attended the ASAIHL 60th Conference (ASAIHL2015) under theme “Educational Access and Excellence”, hosted by Build Bright University held in Sokha Angkor Resort, Siem Reap, Cambodia.

STOU Welcomes the YUDE Delegation

On 25 November 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jakkris Sivadechathep, Vice-President for Planning and Research and Asst. Prof. Orasa Pankhao, Vice-President for Corporate Communications and International Affairs welcomed Prof. Dr. Hla Tint, Rector of Yangon University of Distance Education (YUDE) and Prof. Dr. Tin May Htun, Head of Law Department from Myanmar for a visit and meeting with the STOU representatives from the School of Communication Arts, the School of Laws, the School of Economics and the Office of Registration, Records and Evaluation. After discussing on the possible academic cooperation and the student exchange program, they had the opportunity to enjoy the Loy Kratong Festival at STOU.
