PRESIDENT’S WELCOME
Dear Shamrock Family,
Welcome to our 55th Annual Green & Gold Gala! We are honored you have returned home for a night of friends, food, and fond memories. Tonight we celebrate Saint Patrick’s largest and most important fundraiser of the year. Our beautiful gym is full of loyal Shamrocks, and it is humbling. This evening will be a memorable one in so many ways.
The most prestigious Saint Patrick Legacy Award is presented tonight to Michael J. Mackey ‘84. Recipients of this award are alumni who represent the values of Saint Patrick, and who demonstrate an extraordinary lifelong commitment to its tradition. The Legacy Award is one of our school’s highest honors. We congratulate and show our sincerest gratitude to Mike, his wife, Sharyl, and their three sons, Jack, Reed, and Aidan.
Additionally, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the commitment and tireless effort of the many people who made tonight possible. We thank our many sponsors for their partnership and generosity. Thank you to Jeff Ardito ‘87, and the Saint Patrick Institutional Advancement team for your hard work and planning. Our alumni and parent volunteers are among the very best, and we thank you for your time and talent to ensure tonight’s success. The effort put forth by everyone will indeed be felt by the students who are here now and by those who are yet to come.
Lastly, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Saint Patrick High School Board of Trustees for their time, talent, treasure, and dedication to the mission of our school. Your servant leadership is a true blessing to our school community. We will forever be grateful for your commitment to the Home of the Shamrocks.
Let us enjoy a wonderful evening in celebration of our Faith, Tradition, and Brotherhood, but most importantly, the young men who attend Saint Patrick High School.
Saint John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us. Live, Jesus, in our hearts forever!
Gratefully,
Dan Santucci ‘02SAINT PATRICK LEGACY AWARD
Saint Patrick High School is proud to present Michael J. Mackey ‘84 with the Saint Patrick Legacy Award. The award, given to an alumnus who represents the values of Saint Patrick and has demonstrated an extraordinary, lifelong commitment to its tradition, is one of the school’s highest honors. A highly accomplished insurance executive with more than 30 years of experience, Mike applies his expertise as Executive Vice President at Alliant where he oversees insurance and risk management operations for a large team of specialists that services a diverse portfolio of private and public sector entities.
Mike is a long-standing member of the Board of Trustees at Saint Patrick High School. He has served on the Institutional Advancement sub-committee and has been intimately involved in the Chick Evans Scholarship Program through the Western Golf Association, which affords full college scholarships to select Shamrock seniors each year. In addition to his involvement at the school, Mike is committed to providing opportunities for alumni and current students. His company, Alliant Insurance Services, Inc. proudly employs Saint Patrick graduates. A recipient of the Shamrock Pride Award in 2014, Mike and his wife Sharyl are also annual sponsors of the Green & Gold Gala and Shamrock Golf Outing.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Business Degree in Finance from Loyola University, Mike began his insurance career as an Account Manager at Aon, handling underwriting analysis and placement in the reinsurance market. Mike was Senior Managing Director and a member of the Insurance Management Committee of Mesirow Financial prior to selling to Alliant Insurance Services, Inc. in 2018.
Mike is a member of the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association (GNMAA) and is a current Director for the Western Golf Association/ Evans Scholars Foundation. He proudly served the Illinois Army National Guard as a military reservist for 6 years.
Mike (‘84) and his two brothers, Rich (‘81) and Dan (‘89) are proud alumni of Saint Patrick High School, and sister, Colleen from Resurrection College Prep High School in ‘86. He and wife Sharyl have three children, Jack, and twins Aidan and Reed who attend Frances Xavier Warde School. The Mackeys reside in downtown Chicago.
Mackey says, “There is a reason St. Pat’s has been around for over 160 years; Great students, dedicated teachers, and committed alumni. I couldn’t be more proud of all that was accomplished under Dr. Schmidt’s past leadership and could not be more excited about the renewed, positive energy of our new leader, Dan Santucci. Dan truly exuberates all of the positive attributes of our ‘Shamrock Brotherhood’ inside & outside the classroom.”
Please join us in congratulating Mike and the entire Mackey family on this well-deserved honor.
CONGRATS
