When using the Internet, school computers and laptops all users must comply with all copyright, libel, fraud, discrimination and obscenity laws, and all school staff (both teachers and support staff) are expected to communicate in a professional manner consistent with the rules of behaviour governing employees in the education sector. Although access to the Internet on the School Network and the NINE Connect Site at http://www.nine.org.uk provides a filtered service, users should appreciate that when they go into the full Internet service there is no such protection. All users should be aware that the school can and does track and record the sites visited, the searches made on the Internet and e-mail sent and received by individual users. These details are recorded in files called ‘cookies’ and the ICT Technician must report any unsuitable sites found during routine maintenance to the Principal. When borrowing a laptop the individual member of staff is solely responsible for ensuring that the above policy statements are implemented at all times. It is important that you do not let anyone else use the laptop while it is signed out in your name as you will be held responsible for its use during this time. The school is providing insurance for these laptops but there is an excess fee of £150.00 for each claim that you make. I have read and agree to abide by the above guidelines Signed _______________________________________
