East Central Area Partnership Holiday Grant January – August 2012 For work with vulnerable children and young people Guidelines Grant Eligibility You must: • Be part of a community, voluntary or statutory group • Be based in the East Central area or intend to run the piece of work for the benefit of families within the area • Show clearly the benefit of the piece of work to vulnerable families in East Central • Have a democratic, written constitution or be part of a larger organisation with such a constitution Non-eligibility The following are not eligible: • Individuals or non-constituted groups • Organisations seeking to use the grant to promote particular political parties or religious beliefs • Organisations seeking to use the grant for the advancement of private business interests • To fund the core costs of the organisation • Replacement of statutory funding • One-off activities including trips Process and size of grant • Applicants should complete an application form. • You can apply for a grant that covers one or more holiday periods • We will prioritise partnerships i.e. two or more organisations working together. • We will award grants of £500 - £1,000 per organisation • Grants must be fully spent by August 31st 2012 • The deadline for an evaluation of impact report is 1 month after the provision has ended • Any unspent funding will be returned to East Central Area Partnership Purpose of grants All grants will deliver actions • •
Focused on Early Intervention targeted work with vulnerable children, young people and/or their families To support at least one of the outcomes set out in the East Central Area Partnership Plan. These are:
1. Improve the emotional health and well-being of vulnerable children and young people 0-19 2. Increase the engagement of vulnerable parents and carers, including family support and access to services and supporting families with multiple complex needs 3. Increase positive development opportunities for vulnerable children and young people 0-19 4. Improve school attendance by 1% 1
5. Improve cultural competency and community cohesion Criteria The following criteria will be used to assess applications: • • • • • • • • • • •
Value for money Match funding Vulnerability factors Programme of planned activities Partnerships between organisations Meeting a need in provision Filling a gap in provision Evidence of current work with vulnerable children and young people Spread across East Central Spread across holidays Spread across age range
Awarding of grants Awards will be made by a panel. Evaluation • Successful applicants will be required to submit a brief evaluation report. This report will include a financial statement • The report will need to detail the actual impact as described in the application form and must include a case study/case studies of participants • Grant recipients should acknowledge the East Central Area Partnership on any published material.
