The City of St. Petersburg is excited to welcome the largest Pride celebration in the Southeast to the Sunshine City - June 22-23, 2024. More than 100,000 people are expected to attend this weekend's events. Please allow extra time when planning your trip and kindly follow directions provided by our valued law enforcement officers who will be directing traffic for public safety.

Here's all you need to know for the weekend, recently updated by the City of St. Petersburg including street closures, transportation and parking options:

St. Pete Pride Parade, Trans March, and Festival Saturday, June 22, 2-10 p.m. - North Straub and South Straub Park

The Festival will begin at 2 p.m. on both sides of the parade route. North Straub Park will have a variety of local vendors, food trucks, a DJ, and a beer garden. North and South Straub Parks will host the main entertainment stages. These are free events and open to the public.

The Trans March will step off in Vinoy Park at 5:15 p.m., followed by the St. Pete Pride Parade - which steps off at 6 p.m. from Albert Whitted Park north to Vinoy Park along Bayshore Drive.

STREET CLOSURES:

Bayshore Drive from Albert Whitted Park north to 5th Ave. NE. will be closed for staging beginning at 1 p.m. until the parade concludes. 

Bayshore Dr. from Central Ave to 5th Ave NE. will remain closed until 11 p.m. when activities end in North and South Straub Parks.

GETTING THERE:

During Pride events, downtown will be busy. Please plan accordingly and consider leaving early to account for traffic and find parking for a stress-free arrival.

Public Transit Options:

PSTA is the official transportation of St. Pete Pride.

Free Park & Ride on Saturday, June 22:

Tropicana Field: Lots 5, 6, and 7 from 6 a.m. - 12 a.m. No overnight parking.

St. Pete High School: 11 a.m. - 11 p.m. Cars must be out of the lot by midnight. No overnight parking.

SunRunner: On parade day, take the SunRunner to 6th Ave. S (USFSP) or 1st Ave S and 5th St. stops to get closest to the parade route. The best departure stop is 1st Ave. N and 5th St. S The SunRunner has a stop one block west at 32nd St. on both 1st Ave. N and 1st Ave. S The SunRunner will depart approximately every 7 minutes from the Park & Ride locations. The last SunRunner departs at 11:30 p.m. to ensure all riders are able to get back to their cars before the lots close.

Free Service: All PSTA service is free for riders on June 22.

Parking Tips

Parking garages at Southcore and Sundial are closest to the parade route.

St. Pete Pier on Saturday

The St. Pete Pier will be open for business but closed to vehicular traffic and parking from 4-9 p.m. If you decide to park at the Pier, your car will be there until it re-opens that evening at 9:30 p.m.

Doc Fords will be closed on Saturday, June 22.

Rideshare & Micromobility

Consider ride share - North Straub or Vinoy Park are good drop-off/pick-up points.

Micromobility - Take a bike or scooter share! Note, that some downtown scooter and bike hubs will be closed due to event festivities.

St. Pete Pride Grand Central Street Fair Sunday, June 23, 12-5 p.m. - Grand Central District

St. Pete Pride's popular Sunday Street fair is returning, bringing tens of thousands of all ages to the Grand Central District to enjoy block after block of entertainment, vendors, food, community partners, and interactive carnival games. With street performers and hundreds of participating businesses and organizations, there will be something for everyone. This is a free event and open to the public.

 STREET CLOSURES:

Central Avenue and all cross streets between 1st Ave. N and 1st Ave. S will be closed starting at 20th St. and ending at 31st St. from 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. (all side streets will be blocked at the alleys).

GETTING THERE:

Public Transit

SunRunner: Stops East and Westbound at 32nd St. on 1st Ave. S and 1st Ave. N Central Avenue Trolley: Always an option, but will be impacted by road closures.

Parking

Consider downtown parking lots and garages. Please be considerate of residential property if parking on neighborhood streets. A secondary parking option will be along 1st Ave. N and 1st Ave.

Ride Share & Micromobility
