AROUND THE CLUB

by Dr. Patsy Warmack, President

We are very fortunate to have Susan B. Anthony, portrayed by Margaret Kaler famed Florida storyteller from St. Augustine, scheduled for our October 19th program meeting. What better way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage then with Susan B. in the clubhouse?!

This will be an exclusive for LBC members because, due to the coronavirus, no guests will be allowed – although it isn’t too late to join the LBC (see details below). We are really excited because members can attend virtually or face-to-face. Anyone who wants to attend (at the club or via Zoom) MUST MAKE A RESERVATION! If anyone needs more information regarding reservations, e-mail me at patsywarmack@tampabay.rr.com or call, you’ve got my number. This should be a fabulous event whether you attend in person at the PAG Clubhouse or on Zoom. Members who reserve a Zoom seat will be sent a link to click to enter the meeting. “Zoomee’s” will even have a chance to win that bottle of wine if they wear their LBC name tag!

If attending this program at the clubhouse you may choose to stay for lunch or not. Remember though, you must make a reservation for Zooming in, attending at the clubhouse for program only, or for the program and lunch.

If you haven’t paid your dues yet, now is the time. Contact Maryette Miller (maryette06@tampabay.rr.com) Treasurer to mail your check or Cheryl Lanfear (mclanfear@yahoo.com) Membership Chair, if you will be a new number - she will send you a copy of the member enrollment form. Dues are just $30.00 and worth every penny!!

PAG Club ONLY members are eligible to join the Ladies Beach Club!!

The Passport Club is pleased to sponsor an exciting presentation for all SPYC members!

A Himalayan Odyssey: Travel Adventures in Nepal Presented by SPYC member, Loren Hoffman, in person at the downtown clubhouse.

Thursday, November 5th Social Time: 5:00 pm Presentation: 5:30 pm $15++/per person *Plated Hors d’oeuvres will be available*

Loren Hoffman, an avid sailor and SPYC member, will narrate a slideshow of his travels to Nepal. At about 27 N Latitude (Kathmandu), in 80 miles the terrain goes from sea level on the border with India up to reach the world’s highest peaks bordering Tibet; including Mt. Everest.

The presentation will capture the country’s cultures and (like Edmund Hillary and members of the 1953 Everest expedition) traverse up the deepest valleys in the world. This event will be a combination of “in-person” attendance at the Club and virtually for those who are out of town or quarantining. Please RSVP in either case if you wish to attend.

To attend in person: RSVP online at www.spyc.org or call 727-892-6882 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To attend virtually via Zoom: RSVP to patsywarmack@tampabay.rr.com to receive Zoom meeting details (Zoom event is complimentary to attend)

Guests and reciprocal members are now allowed at the Club.

The mission of the Passport Club is to have fun and share travel experiences, plans, and bucket lists for domestic & international travels; by air, land, sea, or just kicking back and letting others take the wheel! (Guests welcome ~ food & beverage will be billed to member account.)
