Notice Board SCHOOL COUNCIL
from Newsletter 18
by StPetersYork
School Council were very lucky to receive a visit this week from Cllr Paula Widdowson who is the Executive Member for Environment and Climate Change on York City Council. She was able to tell us some very interesting facts about environmental issues in York. Tom Swales from Estates also joined us to hear what the school could do to improve our school's impact on the Environment.
We discovered, that, with regard to the treatment of waste and the care of the environment, York is an ‘A’ list city of which there are only 7 in the UK.
Paula told us what happens to our rubbish in York and what we can do to help the environment at school and at home. School Council members will share this information with their class after half term.
Thank you for visiting us Paula, it was so interesting and has given us lots of ideas to share with the rest of St Peter's.
