We are closed this Monday 19th September, which has been declared a Bank Holiday for the day of Her Late Majesty The Queen’s funeral. Next week the Healthy Child team will be visiting school for Reception and Year 1 health checks. They will check height and weight (for the national database), hearing and sight. Any issues with the latter will be communicated directly with you. If you have any queries, please direct these to Gemma Williams: g.williams@stpetersyork.org.uk.

THURSDAY
Our newsletter, Compass, is produced each Friday afternoon, and next week we will share information from each year group briefly describing the experiences the children have enjoyed throughout the week accompanied by a pictorial record of the children and their work. It is so lovely to be able to share this with parents and guardians so that you can not only see what the children have been learning in school, but it is also our hope that this will support you in stimulating conversation about their learning journey at home as well. Please do try and find a few minutes to read the newsletter each week.
WEDNESDAY
This week we held parent information evenings for each year group. These were an opportunity for parents and guardians to develop a greater understanding of our ethos as a school and to hear from Mrs Clarke, who presented our education priorities for the year ahead. All parents were then invited to walk around their child’s learning environment and to have conversations with their child’s class teacher. Thank you to everyone who attended and to all the staff who remained at school to show you the classrooms and learning environments.
