NEW CATHEDRAL HISTORY BOOK ON SALE Richard Perry has written new book on the history of the Cathedral of St. Philip, These Old Walls, Volume II, covering 1997–2017. This is a follow-up to the original These Old Walls, which covers 1947–1997. Both are available at the Thrift House and Book Store! Volume II is $15; reprints of Volume I are $10.

FOYERS SUPER FOYERS IS COMING UP! Do you enjoy eating good food and meeting new people? Then Foyers is for you! Experience friends, food, and fellowship in small groups of 8 to 10 each month beginning with Super Foyers on Sunday, April 8 at 6 p.m. in Child Hall. This year, we’ll offer a group that meets during the day for those who are unable to participate at night. OUTREACH BRING JEWELRY DONATIONS ON APRIL 15 St. Veronica’s Guild is collecting vintage, estate, and contemporary costume jewelry for a glitzy and glamorous sale in September. Bring your donations to church on Sunday, April 15, when guild members will be in the Atrium to collect items. This is an opportunity to clean out your own jewelry box as well as pass along any old pieces from your grandmothers, mothers, and aunts. Even damaged pieces, single earrings, and broken items of sterling or gold will be used. While the sale will not take place until September, we need your donations now. Guild members are preparing for the sale by collecting, cleaning, repairing, and pricing jewelry in the coming weeks.

The jewelry sale will benefit Good Samaritan Health Center Friday Clinic, dedicated to helping people in the homeless community achieve well-being and stability.

The sale also benefits St. Veronica’s ongoing projects of donating personal care items to four ministries: Church of the Common Ground, Crossroads Community Ministries, Emmaus House, and Church of the Holy Comforter.

FEBRUARY BCM FOOD DRIVE A SUCCESS! BUT DID YOU KNOW ...

St. Anne’s Guild thanks all at the Cathedral for their contributions to the February BCM Food Drive. A total of $5,839.54 and 186 bags of food and supplies were collected.

Because of your generosity, BCM’s pantry will continue to serve its clients well. We realize that many hearts and hands go into a successful drive and we are most grateful for your support.

A special note of thanks to the following for generating the bulk of our food and household supply donations: Maggie Paul and her Cathedral youth who orchestrated the “Souper Bowl” collection; Sara Chapman who set up her “Children’s Chapel Store” to teach about BCM as well as provide a hands-on experience of shopping and giving; and Mary Kibler and the teachers and children of the Cathedral Preschool who brought BCM and the Food Drive into their February class activities.

BCM relies heavily on volunteer support. They need help in the areas of hospitality and intake, the food pantry, the Thriftique, administrative support, and data entry. They also need money management coaches, resume writing coaches, and student interns for summer and fall. If you are interested, contact Tiffany Banks, volunteers@bcmatlanta.org.

OUTREACH GIVE THANKS WITH UTO: INGATHERING MAY 13 Every day we have so many blessings that come our way. Let us rejoice and give thanks this spring by participating in our Cathedral’s United Thank Offering (UTO). UTO has been a tradition since 1889 and supports the missions and ministries of the Episcopal Church. Every cent collected fulfills diocesan grant requests, and each year over $2.5 million dollars is received through UTO offerings.

Here are some ways you and your family can participate: • Pick up a Blue Box this Sunday in the Atrium and place it in a prominent place in your home like the kitchen counter or wherever you keep your keys and wallet.

• Every night during dinner, go around the table and share one thing for which you are truly grateful that day. Pass around the Blue Box and insert some coins or dollars to express your gratitude.

• When saying prayers in the morning or at night, make a ritual offering to thank God for being there to hear your prayers.

• Let the children put a coin in the box for every accomplishment they can share from their day at school.

• Ask every family member to make a donation in thanks for a person they love who has brought joy into their lives.

Ingathering is Sunday, May 13. Having spent several weeks

adding daily offerings of thanks to your Blue Box, on Saturday, May 12, you can open it and count your offerings. Write a check for your total amount, payable to the Cathedral of St. Philip (with UTO in the memo line), and bring it to church where you will receive a UTO envelope for the offering plate.

Or, you can make a contribution at the Atrium kiosk or online at stphilipscathedral.org/contribute. Then, take your empty Blue Box and keep the tradition alive at home until the fall ingathering.

VOLUNTEER WITH THE HABITAT PROJECT! Our latest Habitat for Humanity project is underway, running through April 28. We welcome past builders and new builders. If you have never built, come be part of this exciting ministry. No skills required, just your enthusiasm. We will give you the tools and training that you need to make a contribution. You can sign up in the Atrium on Sundays or contact John Champion, 404 307-0817 or jchampion@bellsouth.net, to get additional information.

Enjoy a weekend full of spirituality and fellowship with other Cathedral parishioners and clergy. Kanuga is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and experience God with the beloved community.

The weekend includes old favorites such as s'mores, hiking, rocking on the porch, ice cream, bluegrass and, of course, the famous Kanuga toast. We will offer an adult program on Saturday morning and enjoy worshiping together in the informal chapel on Sunday. Meals are served family-style in the lodge and accommodations are available in historic cottages or the hotel-style inn.

On Palm Sunday, Cathedral youth read the Passion Gospel, the story of Christ's crucifixion, as the stained glass window behind them depicted the same.
