so, where will the day take you? As all great places tend to do, The Pinehills offers you countless excuses to drop what you’re doing and get out of the house. The hiking trail beckons. So do the shops, restaurants and 01

seasonal festivities at The Village Green. The Stonebridge Club invites you and your family to go for a swim, play some tennis, take a yoga class or join the book club. And, with two championship, daily-fee golf courses in your back yard, you can almost always gather a foursome. While you’re at The Village Green, be sure to stop by the café for a cup of really good coffee. Or, if you’re thinking of packing a lunch for a day hike, you’ll want to head for The Market. Brilliantly paired with Long Ridge Wine & Spirits, this unique food store features a delectable deli and an utterly delightful bakery — not to mention fresh to-go dishes prepared by The Market’s chef. Residents often say that they moved to The Pinehills because they fell in love with the place, and stayed because they got to know the people. Good neighbors gradually became good friends. And maybe that’s the real secret of The Pinehills. Every pathway and

here, mother nature has the last word You could say that The Pinehills has been under construction for a few million years. The glacial ebb and flow over millennia has left us with the distinctive hills and valleys (kames and kettles, as they are called) that give this landscape its rich and varied character. The whole idea of this community begins here, in the geology and the ecology of the place, and conforms to the natural environment in a way that is uncommonly respectful. Today, this kind of thinking is called “green.” But to the original planners of The Pinehills, it was instinctive: protect what is environmentally sensitive and of lasting value. Preserve the natural landscape with its kettles and kames. Save trees. Bend the roads around the hills. Create small, intimate neighborhoods. Celebrate privacy and views. So, even today, close to twenty years into the creation of The Pinehills, the dominant impression is still one of vast woodland. Seventy percent of this land remains dedicated to natural and recreational open space. But look closely and you’ll see, carefully situated among the trees, a community thriving and growing in beautiful harmony with nature. This is the legacy of The Pinehills. Winner of over 100 major national and regional awards, including: “Community of the Year” Best in American Living Rewards “Best Smart Growth Community” “Best Green Built Home” National Association of Home Builders “Best Mixed-Use Community” Builder magazine
