Go on a picnic. Let the kids make simple sandwiches, like PBJs, grab some drinks and go outside, spread a blanket and eat. Whether you go to a park, or just the backyard, lunch just became a memory.
Fly a kite. There are many inexpensive ones available, or make one together. Go to www.allfreecrafts.com for instructions.

Have the kids gather pine cones and make fire starters. You will need to melt the wax and pour it into small paper cups. The kids can put the pine cones in the cups. After the wax cools completely, peel off the cup. These make great gifts for teachers.
Make refrigerator magnets. Buy inexpensive wooden cutouts and magnets at a craft store and let the kids paint or use markers to decorate. They’ll love seeing their work on display!
