REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CONTENT OF DOGS IN VILNIUS

1. Comply with the rules of the Republic of Lithuania on the Protection of Animals

2. Obligatory registration and microchipping of the pet

3. Veterinary care of animals and constant worry about the health of the animals is mandatory

4. While walking in a public place or on other public property owner must have all necessary for cleaning dog excrements accessories (bags for excrements, scoops, etc.) and, accordingly, collect and clean up poo of dogs

5. To walk with the dogs only on special area for dog walking

6. The owner must ensure that the animals do not threaten, does no harm to health, life, property and the environment.

7. The owner must compensate the damage caused to the animal in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania

8. In the case maintenance of wild animals, they must be released unharmed or in the case of illness or other reasons, are transferred to the Center emergency response 112 or Vilnius Regional Environmental Protection Department.

PROHIBITED: 1. keep the animals in an enclosed vehicle, or in a room without ventilation, leave them outdoors in extreme heat or cold conditions 2. feeding stray animals, throw the leftover food from the balconies, windows and the like. Owners who keep animals for commercial purposes, must register their activities and have all necessary documents. 11.
