Interior design - trending in 2016 We understand that trends come and go within interior design and many of our clients and customers want to stay on top of those trends.

Mucklow Hill has searched long and hard for signs of what will be trending in the upcoming year and have compiled a list of our favourites to share with you! Continue reading to see what interior design trends are in for 2016. Texture - Textured items, especially faux fur, will have a strong presence in 2016. Items with texture are a great way to add movement to a room etc. Floral - All kinds of floral patterns, including the darker florals (think 80s) are making a comeback. There is no doubt there will be a variation of sparse floral patterns and tightly packed florals taking over fabrics, accessories, and feature walls. Colour - And we're talking BOLD. Black tile is quite on trend at the moment, and similar to that, dramatic colours translate to walls. Painting walls a dark colour may sound unappealing, however, using the right accessories can glam up a room and turn it into something modern and stylish. Blue and pink and gold - These three colours seem to be popular within interiors. Choosing a neutral colour as the base theme of a room such as beiges, browns or creams and then accessorising with either of these colours can definitely bring an otherwise dull room to life. Tips for choosing bathroom tiles

Choosing tiles for your bathroom can be overwhelming with the amount that is available. Here at Mucklow Hill, we are here to help and can give you tips for when you are choosing your bathroom tiles.

Tips:

#1 Carefully choose your tiles by obtaining advice from the staff! Be sure to get the correct adhesives, profiles, mattings and water proofing systems to ensure that your tiles last a lifetime. #2 When choosing a tile specifically for an area that gets wet and acquires a lot of condensation, it is important to tile onto an already water resistant background. Ideal backings are either sand/cements rendered, a water resistant tile backer board or dense concrete. If you do not have any of these backings, you should bear in mind to make these waterproof. #3 Trends come and go, lately, large tiles are leading and these can look particularly classical in larger bathrooms or en-suites. Keep in mind that the weight of the tiles may not be suitable for your walls. #4 Ensure that floor tiles are slip resistant for bare feet in slippery conditions. #5 Consider implements underfloor heating to add a little bit of luxury at a decent price. This also adds to the thickness fo the tiling that is on the floor. Please visit our website to view all of our stock and see our tiles showroom in Birmingham!
