As the potential of VR for research and simulation was identified from early stages (), the aim of the project was to test the capacity of these technologies, specifically Head Mounted Displays to facilitate (cultural / tele-) presence and intuitive learning, respectively engage users with various types of architectural data and its modes/ codes of representation in an embodied, un didactic manner. State of the art technologies for both collecting and accessing the data have been investigated and ultimately enabled the project,
The MSc project was enabled and implemented from the beginning following principles of user centred design (). Constructivist learning theories and serious games design concepts have been also applied through the use of game mechanics and VE design. The project set out to identify transferable knowledge (architectural representation and language) prototype virtual tools for architectural learning, facilitating reflection on both the medium and the message
