There is a diverse supply of lifestyle properties in the English countryside ranging from classical old rectories, farms and estates, to cutting-edge contemporary homes, and everything in between. Our point of view

The benefits of owning low or zero carbon properties go well beyond helping the planet. Across both residential and commercial landscapes, they command higher capital values, allow cheaper borrowing, generate better yields and significantly reduce running costs.

Building from scratch to Passivhaus standards is the easiest way to create zero carbon structures. However, the UK has the oldest average building stock in the world; in 2050, approximately 80% of our built environment will consist of structures that already exist today. Focusing on cutting emissions linked to older properties is therefore fundamental.

Property Vision’s guiding belief is that it is always better to do something rather than nothing. However, we understand that individual clients have very different appetites and budgets. Our role is to maximise positive impact within these parameters.

Sustainability Advice

Legislation & Subsidies

The UK government is legally committed to net-zero by 2050. A key milestone is to reduce CO2 emissions by 78% by 2035, compared to 1990s levels. The UK cut emissions by 44% between 1990 and 2019, but we need to keep going.

The built environment represents some 40% of the UK’s CO2 emissions, but there is no clear route map to ensure property plays its part in delivering these goals. Legislation to date has been minimal and largely focused on raising EPC standards for new-builds and let properties.
