ell, what a world cup so far! A major surprise that Brazil got their ass whooped like that - OMG that type of torture was so not expected but all the same its been a great laugh and a fun topic of conversation when you’re socialising. Some do take it to heart though, so be careful of the jokes you make. You must have seen the tears and I bet you millions of pounds was lost in bets as lots would have thought Brazil would have been a sure win. Anyway still the talk is the BET Awards 2014 as Chris Rock reefers to as the Black World Cup..love it. I have been watching the ceremony over and over and I’m simply amazed at the champions of black music. Last weekend we saw Wireless Festival hit London and Birmingham for the first time. Being from Birmingham we obviously went to the one here. We were intrigued that a festival of this magnitude was held at Perry Park, and it’s still a shock to the system. Thousands came out to see the first time ever spectacle with headlines Iggy Azalea, Tinie Tempah, Sean Paul, Pharrell, Kanye West and Bruno Mars. The Friday Drake dropped out last minute which seemed to affect the turn out big time but still a great time was had by most.

On a critical point of view, yes great that it happened but don’t think the artists were wireless best. I’ve definitely seen better and would have used the budget on bigger, better and more credible acts. Some of the names on stage were not ready for a festival especially Pharrell to be honest. I don’t even think he’s ready for the stage yet, but that’s just my opinion.. See full review of Wireless and our thoughts on Kanye’s full blown 20 minute rant on stage which led to boos. Personally I love seeing Kanye making an ass of himself, and he is a legend for looking a prat however also an amazing artist which you cant take away from him.

Another Baby for Beyonce? Rumours are Beyonce could be expecting her 2nd child and she is also filing for divorce but could be expensive as the couple combined are worth 900 million and it would be too much to end.
What a disaster they have got themselves into eh, they may become closer on tour. Wouldn’t you just love to really know what that elevator incident was about?

and non-footy fans alike with a new generation of fans who can’t wait to embrace their love of the game…or even, perhaps, take-up a career in dentistry. Despite the hosts’ shocking display, in their 7-1 defeat to the ever-efficient Germany in the semi finals and despite the fact you’d always be found out if a group of 22 inept men totally relied on the, yes huge but not super-human, talents of a 22-year-old. Their arch-rivals, Argentina, can do so, with their team of above adequately skilled players who play their responsible part in making the genius that is Lionel Messi the incredibly unique taken that he is.
As for the team from the Rhineland, full of goals, hard to beat, a dream to watch, it was fitting that the best player in the world should pit his incredible wit against against a team that represents football’s fullest value-on and off the pitch. England, with its much-vaunted Football Association and questionably highly-funded Premier League, watch and learn. The afore-mentioned US, Costa Rica, Iran, Australia plus Bosnia-Herzegovina, et ell, can take heart from their showing in Brazil 2014. For Brazil themselves, it’s back to basics…and beyond, for the country who gave us the BEAUTIFUL GAME!!!

FESTIVAL FEVER TAKES OVER BIRMINGHAM
I
t was the most anticipated event to ever happen in Birmingham for urban music - 3 days of nonstop international live acts on stage together.
International and local stars performed at Perry Park Stadium who would have thought that something of this magnitude would happen. We have been raving about it over the last few months especially the Birmingham event as that’s our home town! When the news started coming through that it would be Drake, Pharrell, Robin Thicke, Sean Paul & Kanye West amongst others headlining it was definitely an eye popper. Personally those headlines are not my favourite acts. I would have jumped up more if it was like last years event in London, with the likes of Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, and Rihanna, but while I was there, as good as it was I just couldn’t help think that it could have been loads better if there were better artists.
COVER STORY
Yes I’m an old skool man, so I’m going to want to see the pioneers, but even the new generation know that the old skool is best. Now lets talk about the artists. Obviously the stand outs were the headliners, but to my surprise out of all the acts, it was Tinie Tempah that was the one that did it for me as he was so ready for the festival. Track after track there was never a dull moment! He’d had thousand rocking out, and it must be because he’s been a performer at Wireless for the last five years which he made a point of and finally he was on the main stage. He also said Birmingham was the best one yeh we love that! You can just imagine Pass Out, Miami 2 Ibiza, Drinking from the Bottle, Frisky and Written in the Stars had everyone jumping and roaring constantly. It was also great how Tinie gave inspiring words to people saying enjoy your life wishing us to have fun and amazing careers. He was very in touch with the crowd. Then there was Pharrell Williams who came out with no introduction and it must be said as a headliner he started off quite boring, singing his least popular songs which ended up dragging. When he went into the old skool Pharrell and N.E.R.D. tracks, that’s when it got live. All the classics were dropped from Jay Z’s Excuse Me and Frontin, to Snoop Dogg’s Beautiful and Drop it like its hot to name a few. Fast forward to the final act on the Sunday which was Kanye West after word got out that he was booed on the last two shows he did in London because of his 20 minute rants. This didn’t stop him from ranting again, though this time it was about the media how they treat him unfairly and that they said he was booed when it wasn’t true. In Birmingham he didn’t get booed and it must be said he tore the roof off with his

classics, blasting out track after track. We all know Kanye is an amazing performer and the rants weren’t what we wanted to hear at a festival. It’s clear he has his fans as when he was on the whole park filled up it was amazing to see. The main stage became Kanye West and everyone else was forgotten, the Givenchy mask he wore was the talk and god knows how he performed in what looked like such hot material. He did take it off from time to time which was a good thing, because if he didn’t, people might have wondered if it really was Kanye West! So what did we think of the festival? It is a great concept that needs to happen again that’s for sure. It was a great start but I would love to see heavy acts in hip hop like say Busta Rhymes, Run DMC, LL Cool J, DMX and Method Man - artists that could really get a festival hype! But we must big up the Wireless Festival. I also think they should get more of the underground promoters, DJ’s, and artists involved in the show and get all who have helped bring the urban scene and lose those who don’t represent it. umn, after a few very hard stressful weeks of no sleep, constant tantrums, screaming around the house, teenage hissy fits, Caitlin has finally finished her GCSE’s. I cant remember me being like that when i took my exams (a few years ago haha) but no doubt I was.
Hey Guys and Gals! Well im still hanging on in there and still trying to get used to all this hustle and bustle that’s surrounding me and the family, not too sure if I ever will though - but I’m gonna surf this wave and see where it takes me. Had a great day on Sunday at Planet Ice Coventry, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Charity - oh my days, haven’t been ice skating since I was about 14 years old and really didn’t hold much hope that I would actually stay standing upright - but I did, yay me.
my friends and a lot of people presume we live on take outs and junk food, not in my house. My kids have been brought up on fresh fruit and veg since they were babies, and thats mainly thanks to daddy dearest and his 4 allotments. One take out a week at a push for my gang. This experience was a million miles away from cooking at home,
watched eagerly by a french chef, as I prepared the veg and gutted the fish, yep I definitely like to get my hands in there when cooking. I must say even though I felt the pressure, I can stand the heat and will stay in the kitchen, dinner was served and they whooped it off, so I can safely say the French enjoyed my home made fish stew.
So congratulations to everyone out there who have finished their exams and studied hard, and await their results in August. I bet every woman out there with a child in Year 11 cannot believe their babies have grown up way to fast and have now officially left school. I wish you all the best for the future. Much love and until next time take care Dee

Took Gerrard with me and for someone who has never been ice skating in his life, he took off like an Olympic speed skater. Met some amazing people, we took part in an ice skating lesson, met some of the characters from Disney’s Frozen and above all made some well needed money for such a good cause. On another completely different end of the scale, I was invited to France to cook for a 80th Birthday party in a little bistro, called Chez Maebro in a small very beautiful village. A lot has been said about me and

on’t we all have multiple faces? Don’t we all portray ourselves in one way to some and another way to others? Or do we have one face with multiple sides? After a conversation with my friend about relationships she was firm on her decision to not have anything to do with her ex once they split but then when we were out with some other girls, including me, her decision was different! She explained that she loved him and always would no matter what and that she didn’t really want to split from him but that
there time was up! I was tremendously confused! So I asked her what was with the difference of stories. Her justification started with ‘them lot won’t go after him now they know I’m emotionally tied to him and they don’t know me and him like that to judge our situation. My once astounded face slowly started to soften into a face of ‘fairdo’. But then later on that day I asked myself ‘is she two-faced or what?’ Being two-faced is quite a negative critique of someone.

The hilarious weekly column Do we all not act one way in front of some and a different way in front of others? However smiling and chatting to someone in one breath then snarling and bitching about them in the next are two-different things and I guess this is where the two-facedness comes in. It’s hard trying to decipher twofacedness, why can’t we just be real with each other? Would you feel upset or angry if someone suddenly stopped talking to you? We have to just acknowledge that people are people and that mankind is flawed BUT once we have built a secure and bullet-
proof barrier around ourselves words, comments, face expressions, laughs and taunts that people may holler at you will just bounce off and disappear into oblivion. Please remember that WE are all entitled to our own OPINION, it’s our human right! But as we are humans with bones and blood and organs it can take some of us time to embrace the side of us that possesses feelings, compassion for others and their business so until then do yourself and others a favour and HUSH YA LIP!
