Foggy is your king of the jungle
Carl ‘Foggy’ Fogarty, the winner of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here 2014 was the most popular celebrity in the jungle camp from start to finish. Foggy took nearly 60%of the votes by the time the final vote came around, from an already impressive 39% when former MP Edwina Currie was voted off in the fourth place vote. “Being given the challenge to do something that I would never normally do, and to come out on top of it, after all these years from being world champion 20 years ago in Australia.” “It made me realise that I am more of a people person that I thought I was. For me to go through that whole experience of ups and downs and roller coaster ride of emotions, and just be myself, obviously people like that.” Pope Francis has confirmed what everyone has always known. All dogs go to heaven! This week at his weekly address in St Peter’s Square, a little boy who was heartbroken over the death of his beloved put was being consoled by the Pope. According to multiple reports, Pope Francis told the boy, “One day, we will see our animals again the eternity of Christ. Paradise is open to all of God’s creatures.”
because animals apparently don’t have souls they can’t go to heaven, but with this recent statement, whether it was said casually or intended as it was said, some have taken it as canon. Pope Francis is clearly a friend to the four-legged, especially as he took his papal name from St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

Who will come I
t’s been making stars for over ten years, groups, solos, winners and losers. A host of household names have emerged from the once untouchable star-maker.
From it’s very first winner, The X Factor, a staple diet for Saturday night television entertainment, has been the mainstay of many a Monday morning water-cooler natter, with people up and down the country passing their own individual judgement on the auditions, their outfits, the judges, and theirs. Who’s mentoring who? Which judge will triumph to put one over on the others? Which winner will be a sustained success?
Which ‘loser’ will be the biggest winner? The names of some past X Factor winners are memorable, for one reason or another. And equally so, some who reign supreme, for the Finals at least, are now just a figment of our often hyper-critical imaginative. For every Leona Lewis there’s been a Steve Brookstein, or, from to James Arthur, Sam Bailey to Leon Jackson. You get the picture? Yet, the show seems best to have created some of the greatest ‘losing’ success stories in recent pop history –
e out on top? One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson, JLS and Olly Murs up there on that particular list. With new singing sensation, Ella Henderson, top of the ‘loser’ pile having been eliminated from the show having reached the final six back in 2012. Her debut single, ‘Ghost,’ which she cowrote with Ryan Tedder, best known for his collaborations with Adele, Beyonce and the afore mention Lewis. It’s getting knocked left, right and centre, so it seems, with BBC’s Saturday evening ‘golden egg,’ Strictly Come Dancing, trouncing it, consistently, in the TV ratings. However, for Fleur East,
Andrea Faustini and Ben Haenow each with the right ‘X’ factor to fulfil a sustained and successful music career, the world is their oyster-all three of them. As for the losers, headlining next year’s Glastonbury probably wouldn’t go a miss. For the seemingly troubled X Factor, bring on next season’s thousands of hopefuls...and hopeless.

WHATS ON Shrek the Musical Wolverhampton Grand Theatre 30 September - 11 October
C
oming direct from London, where it was seen live on stage by nearly a million people, the UK and Ireland tour of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane production of SHREK THE MUSICAL® is directed by Nigel Harman who starred as Lord Farquaad in the west end production, winning him the 2012 Laurence Olivier Award for ‘Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical.’ Hailed by critics and enjoyed by audiences of all ages, SHREK THE MUSICAL® visits the ‘big bright beautiful world’ of Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from Wed 30 September – Sun 11 October 2015. Producers Caro Newling, Neal Street Productions, and Nick Salmon, Playful Productions say: “We are very excited to be bringing SHREK THE MUSICALto the best venues across the UK and Ireland. Many years of fun with some of the best talents working in theatre today have gone in to its making and as a result it has thrilled
audiences all over the world with its boundless enthusiasm and fun, we are delighted that the people of the UK and Ireland are takingSHREK to their hearts, just as we did at Drury Lane!” Director of SHREK THE MUSICAL® UK and Ireland Tour, Nigel Harman says: “I am delighted to be returning to Shrek as its director. This show is very special to me with its dizzying blend of great characters, a hilarious script and
sublime music. This production is visually stunning, and the story has the magic ingredient of moving at great pace while still being surprisingly intimate. In short, there was no way I was going to say no to the challenge of realising the production for the UK and Ireland.” SHREK THE MUSICAL®, originally directed (in the West End) by Jason Moore and Rob Ashford, is based on the story and
characters from William Steig’s book Shrek! and the Academy Award®-winning DreamWorks Animations feature film opening on Broadway in 2008 before touring to nearly 150 cities in the USA and Canada. Productions have played in Spain, Poland, France, Malaysia, China, Brazil, Italy, Denmark, The Netherlands, Estonia, Israel and Turkey.
The Assist Slade Rooms, Wolverhampton 21 February 2015 Racking up airplay and exposure from Amazing Radio, BBC Introducing and XFM, 2014 has been an unbeatable year for the Walsallbased band, but they’re not content to leave it there. They aim to take things to the next level in 2015 and their starting the year of in their hometown headlining the Slade Rooms on February 21. The Assist produce an adventure of energetic guitar riffs, funky basslines and punchy drums to create sing-along anthems and in your face upbeat melodies. There’s not really any room to argue with their self-assured, tothe-point sound and, as such, it’s no surprise that their debut single wound up in the iTunes Alternative chart or that they’ve had support slots with Happy Mondays, The 1975 and Reverend and The Makers.

ARE YOU SWISH? S
W I S H meaning, according to Urban Dictionary online is an adjective to define fashion! I personally think SWISH is a verb, adjective and adverb – I SWISHINGLY SWISHED over to SWISH with my SWISHETTES! Ha! Ha! The weather isn’t SWISH at all! I would like to take this time to really think about your life and where it’s going! Is it where you want it to be or is it on the come up? Sometimes people can frown or raise their eyebrows at another man’s dreams, WHY? No matter how outlandish it may seem to one does not mean that mean that it is unachievable! I tell the adults and young people I work with all the time...
SPREAD YOUR WINGS AND FLY! Children, I have had the pleasure to work with, don’t get the metaphor and bring it back to harsh reality with a cheeky statement such as ‘I ain’t no butterfly, I can’t fly, I don’t wanna fly either,’ then they suddenly go off on a tandem and say ‘unless it’s in a plane I wanna go to Euro Disney or Disneyland but that’s far!’ Kids ay!
