WHAT INSPIRED YOUR LOOKS FOR THE SPRING 2016 LOOKBOOK? For this Lookbook, I was inspired by the psychedelic shapes and color palettes of op artist Peter Max and 7up UN-Cola ads from the 1960s and 70s. I love the 1960s and mixing patterns and colors so this was a fun shoot. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT SPRING? I love Downtown Lexington in the Spring. WHAT INSPIRED YOUR LOOKS FOR THE SPRING 2016 LOOKBOOK? My looks were inpired by a combination of the Pantone Spring 2016 colors and by my syle as a high-school gal. My goal when putting together the looks was to utilize and highlight all of the Pantone’s top ten colors for Spring. I loved the mix of muted tones like Lilac Grey and Rose Quartz and the bright, saturated colors such as Fiesta and Green Flash. As I began choosing items within the palette, I realized that the these clothes really didn’t represent my personal style now but more so my style circa 2006. Attending Catholic high-school meant that my closet staples were Lacoste polos (in evey color of the rainbow) and quirky hair acessories. Mix these two inspirations and I give you...PANTONE PREP. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT SPRING? My favorite thing about Spring is the fact that it is FINALLY aceptable to wear mini dresses/ shorts/skirts sans tights. After a long winter it is time to let those babies soak up some sunshine. WHAT’S ON YOUR SPRING MIXTAPE? Spring always feels like an opportunity for a clean start, so I wanted to keep my looks as simple and uncomplicated as possible to give them a clean, fresh feeling. My motto this year is also “the more pink the better” so I tried to sneak that into my looks as well to add some fun and a bit more color. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT SPRING? SUNSHINE. WHAT INSPIRED YOUR LOOKS FOR THE SPRING 2016 LOOKBOOK? For this lookbook, we were all inspired by the Pantone colors of the year, Rose Quartz & Serenity. According to Pantone, “Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.” I mixed these colors with classic shapes and materials to express this idea- the relationship between wellness and peace. I also love using fashion to express who I am as a person. I like to keep things simple, and I always choose quality over quantity. I wanted my looks to express that as well. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT SPRING? Well, my birthday is the first day of Spring, so I love that. I also love the transition from winter to spring- it starts to warm up and the flowers start to bloom. Spring is just cool and refreshing. WHAT’S ON YOUR SPRING MIXTAPE?
