When presenters grant permission, posters and oral presentation slides given at this event are permanently available in the Sigma Repository after the event.
Due to fire code regulations, baggage storage is not permitted in the meeting area. Please see your hotel’s concierge for information on baggage storage.
We understand that many event attendees are parents. Due to the nature of Sigma’s professional educational programs, we recommend limiting children’s attendance in sessions to quiet infants and non-separating children. We ask parents to be sensitive to situations—including happy baby noises—that may affect the concentration of session attendees and presenters and step out if necessary. We appreciate your consideration of your fellow conference attendees.
As a courtesy to the presenters and other attendees, please silence all electronic devices and refrain from using your phone during the sessions.
If you require emergency assistance, please immediately contact Sigma’s registration desk, any Sigma staff member, or the Resorts World Sentosa staff.
Attendees will receive the post-event evaluation a few days after the event. If you wish to provide us with additional feedback, please email events@sigmanursing.org. Your comments help us plan future Sigma events.
The exhibits will be displayed in the Resorts World Ballroom Foyer. Refer to the schedule at-a-glance for viewing times.
Guests traveling with you to this event are not allowed to participate in any event activities without purchasing a daily guest badge of US $75 at the Sigma registration desk.
On Saturday, 27 July, the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame Induction will take place in East Ballroom. Attendees are welcome to meet and celebrate the accomplishments of these impressive nurse researchers with an awards presentation and the opportunity for conversations with the honorees.
Limited wireless internet access is available in most areas of Resorts World Sentosa.
Please visit the Sigma registration desk in the Resorts World Ballroom Foyer to collect lost items or to turn in found items. Please refer to the schedule at-a-glance registration times.
Due to fire code regulations, attendees are not permitted to stand in the perimeter of the plenary or concurrent session meeting rooms.
Moderators are volunteers and are essential to each Sigma event. If you are interested in moderating a session, contact a Sigma staff member for more information.
Your badge admits you to all conference sessions and events and must be visible to security guards, moderators, and staff. If you misplace your badge, please visit Sigma’s registration desk for a replacement. You will be charged a US $25 replacement fee. For your safety, please write on the back of the badge your emergency contact information, any food or medicine allergies, and any significant medical condition(s). Do not wear your name badge while walking outside.
All Sigma events are nonsmoking. The hotel and host city may have additional rules in place. Please speak with your hotel concierge if you have any questions.
Sigma is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission of Accreditation.
To receive contact hours for the sessions offered during the program, participants are required to attend the entire session, complete the overall event evaluation, and complete the evaluation for each session attended. The number of hours available daily are listed on our website at SigmaNursing.org/Congress-NCPD
The number of contact hours awarded to each participant will be based on the number of evaluations completed for each session attended or poster viewed.
Presenters, please refer to your registration information for the time, date, and room of your presentation. No further sign-in is necessary for this event.
The Presenter Ready Room is located in Scorpio, and it provides a place to review presentations. Please note: Internet access is not available on these computers.
Refer to the schedule at-a-glance for times the Presenter Ready Room is open.
The only equipment provided on-site for oral presentations is a computer and an LCD projector. Because of contractual agreements with the audiovisual provider and the possibility of virus transfers, you cannot connect personal equipment (e.g., flash/jump drives, CDs, etc.) to the computers or use it in the presentation rooms. Additional charges are incurred with each violation and may be passed on to you. Please note that this policy will be strictly enforced.
These presentations will take place in East Ballroom. Attendees can be seated 30 minutes prior to the start of the session. For titles and times, please refer to the Sigma event app.
Refer to the schedule at-a-glance or the Sigma event app for poster viewing times.
Double-sided tape will be allowed to adhere your poster to the boards. Please note that you could also use a 3 inch (76 mm) binder clip to clip your poster to the poster panels
provided. Materials used to ship or carry posters cannot be left in the poster area. Materials may be stored in the designated event space; however, your hotel room is the best place for these items. Neither Sigma nor Resorts World Sentosa is responsible for any materials left in the poster area. If posters or other materials are not removed from Central West Ballroom, they will be discarded.
Pre-conferences are a chance to enhance your learning through designated workshops with a concentrated focus. Pre-conferences do require additional registration and cost an additional fee.
If you have registered for congress, check in and pick up event materials at Sigma’s registration desk, located in Resorts World Ballroom Foyer. Refer to the schedule at-aglance for registration hours.
Rising Stars of Research and Scholarship are nominated students who have been invited to share their work through a poster format. This is an opportunity for nursing students to present their research, literature review, or evidencebased project as a way to elevate the nursing profession by showcasing the scholarly contributions of students from around the world.
Although Sigma Marketplace is not exhibiting at congress, we encourage you to view our products online at SigmaMarketplace.org. Congress attendees receive a discount by using the coupon code INRC24 at checkout.
Please join the conversation about the 35th International Nursing Research Congress by using #INRC24.
Recording the plenaries or concurrent sessions is not permitted. Thank you for refraining from this practice.
Sigma is committed to providing robust educational programming at our events. We offer a variety of sessions in different formats to help our attendees get the most out of their experience. Learn more about the types of educational sessions below.
Plenary sessions include our keynote speakers. All event attendees are encouraged to attend these captivating presentations, which feature internationally known and respected speakers on timely and relevant topics.
During concurrent sessions, nurses from all over the world present original evidence-based practice and research abstracts. These run simultaneously. Please refer to the app for presentation titles, presenters, and a brief description about the presentation so you can identify the sessions you want to attend.
The types of concurrent sessions include PechaKucha presentations, oral sessions, special sessions, and symposia. Read more about those types of sessions below.
PechaKucha is a storytelling format where the presenter shows 20 slides for 20 seconds each. Slides are set up to automatically advance after 20 seconds. In other words, you have 400 seconds to tell a story, with visuals guiding the way. PechaKucha means “chit chat” in Japanese. This creative outlet is used by global innovators to create powerful, visually compelling stories that move audiences in less than 7 minutes.
Oral presentations, sometimes called podium presentations, are the standard concurrent session presentation type. The accepted oral abstracts have gone through the peer-review process and are grouped together with abstracts of similar topics in one session.
A special session is an invited presentation on a singular topic. Many of these are Sigma specific topics, such as updates on Sigma global initiatives or organizations that Sigma collaborates with to advance the nursing profession. Special sessions could also highlight Sigma award honorees.
A symposium is a group of at least three individual abstract presentations coordinated by a submitting lead author concerning a common topic of interest. Symposia provide an opportunity to present research or evidence-based practices on one topic, often from multiple perspectives, providing a coherent set of information for discussion.
Two types of posters are available during our poster sessions: peer-reviewed posters and Rising Star student posters. Please take some time to review the posters and attend the meet the author poster sessions to converse with the authors about their work.
