DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BUYER what do buyers do? buyers are negotiators and analysers they evaluate and research products, in fashion specifically garments. buyers have to check their emails from consumers and suppliers everyday, these could be abut future orders or orders already placed. they also prepare parcels that are ready to go out to suppliers. these are things like colour samples.. they will check prices and colours and refernce numbers. they also have election meetings that last around 2 hours. they discuss what has been pre sold and quantities etc.buyers may put together spread sheets for each supplier detailing quantities that would like to be purchased. buyers often travel o fashion shows to discover the latest trends and buy items for their company.

DAY IN THE LIFE OF A VISUAL MERCHANDISER what is vm? what do visual merchandisers do? like most jobs, visual merchandisers have to frequently check their emails. they will get sent emails from the head office of the company they work for, informing them of weekly goals and tasks. visual merchandisers map out their store using information from head office and marketing techniques. they will figure out where to pt certain fixtures around the store. they also find out the best selling styles and which mannequins in the store are successful. they will determine what the store layout for the next week will be. typically, a visual merchandiser will walk through the store with the store manager to run through concerns and issues with the layout. junior visual merchandisers will dress mannequins and style them.Â
