THE SIMPLY FASCINATING STUBAI GLACIER

Whether it’s a challenging mountain tour, a relaxed high-altitude hike or a leisurely excursion into the eternal ice – young and old alike will find exciting experiences and alpine challenges on the Stubai Glacier.

The Stubai Glacier offers numerous adventurous experiences in summer and provides pleasant coolness on hot summer days. The modern 3S Eisgratbahn takes families, hikers, mountaineers and day trippers up to the Stubai Glacier world at 2,900 metres. A high-alpine experience opens up to them up there, ranging from easy high-altitude hikes to challenging summit and glacier tours. For example, the glacier trail from Fernau middle station leads past moraines and the colourful moor, the dazzling Fernau reservoir and the fascinating ice grotto to the Eisgrat top station. Here you will also find the giant mammoth, a six-metre-high wooden figure that provides fun as an adventure playground and photo spot. Even higher up, at the highest point of the glacier at 3,210 metres, the “Top of Tyrol” summit platform delivers a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view. It was named one of the ten most spectacular viewing platforms in the world by GEO magazine.

Glacier Yoga

Glacier Yoga will take place in this unique setting on 17 July. Special yoga experiences are guaranteed here, surrounded by the glacier, in combination with the peace and power of the mountains. The Eisgrat restaurant with barbecue and Tyrolean cuisine made from regional products as well as the Dresdner Hütte make sure that you won’t go hungry or thirsty and offer well-deserved refreshment during the adventure programme.
