LAURA RAISTRICK 13022922 FASHION DESIGN & MARKETING DESIGN REALISATION & PROMOTION DE0861 IMAGINED HISTORIES
From my initial drawing research of Discovery Museum images I found the details of tailored items and shoes particularly interesting. I concentrated my research into picking out intricate details, hand drawing fine liniar drawings. From this I explored digiatal illustrations of the historical pieces, I found creating slightly abstract renditions of these objects really appealing.
from my drawings of the historical pieces i looked at interesting shapes and patterns picking out key elements of the design to create potential prints. I created my final print from picking out key elements, leaves, swirls and a clover like flower and playing with flow of their layout. i looked at the scale, detail in this design to create the following style of pattern to work into my design developments.
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
through my design development i explored high and low back lines, placement of panneling and the use of straps to create lines on the body. In the place of panneling i explored areas to add pattern through fabric manipulation.
I further explored shapes on the body and continuing shapes from one garment to another to create a look. i considered high neck lines and and neck brace structures to compliament other structured looks. Through panneling i explored the combination of sheer soft fabrics to accompany heavily structured bodices inspired by the historical tailored wear researched.
I considered lines on the body as a modern take to accompany a structured bodice. i like that the high leg gives a sultry modern look.
