IN TEN YEARS I can see myself earning a master’s degree in criminal justice. Because of my love of mysteries, I find myself trying to figure out how they did it, why they did it, and when. I believe that in about five-ten years I will be an artist and finish school. I hope I can make a huge change in the world with my art, like Leonardo Da Vinci. He impacted the art world with Mona Lisa. He showed beauty in his art. I want to show that everyone is equal and should be treated that way with my art. I want to make art that would be like 1000 words. My art would be meaningful, my art will have a purpose. I love illustrations, and making new things. I want everyone to be happy in the world; I want everyone to experience happiness. Everyone deserves happiness. My art will only be happy, nothing including war, violence, sadness, etcetera. Everyone should be peaceful. Peace is everything. We are the future, we are the new generation. —Brandon B.

What I want to be when I grow up is an F.B.I. because I want to help lots of people in the world and actually be somebody in the world. In five years I know I’ll be in high school but I don’t know which! But in ten years I would like to be at MIT, Northwestern or Penn State. Penn State because my dad went to Penn State and my dad’s dad went to Penn State! When I grow up I want to be an engineer or inventor. I will get a lot of money for inventing something, I don’t know what—but something! With that money I would open an amusement park and invent all the roller coasters. When I grow up, I want to be a doctor or a biologist. Like my mom, studying volcanoes and tornadoes always interested me. Being a doctor will be great because I will be able to find many cures, or help people with sicknesses. But most importantly, I want to work hard to become a doctor and a biologist because I want to succeed my mom’s dream. She has always loved to help people; being a doctor suits that. Sadly, my mom was never able to do that since she had to drop out of school to help her family. Now, I will achieve my mother’s goal. Not because I HAVE to, but because I WANT to! My mother’s dream really interests me, and I’ve always wanted to do this myself. —Esmeralda C.
My hopes, goals and dreams are to graduate middle school, high school and college. Right now I want to pass 5th grade. In the future I hope to be a designer when I grow up because I love to do arts and crafts and to sew. My mom and grandma showed me how to sew, and I would want to thank them and also them to be proud of me. Once I did a dress for a doll when I was little. Now I want to do a dress for a real human. My hobby is to sew and do arts and crafts, and I want to achieve that goal for my family to be proud of me. It would be amazing if I would be a designer and I hope to be one. I also want to have straight A’s in fifth grade and in other grades. I want to have straight A’s because that would make me and my family proud to have straight A’s and also that would help me in the future and in my dreams when I grow up. Those are my hopes, dreams and goals, and I hope to accomplish these dreams, hopes and goals. —Viridiana V. My dreams are going to Mexico and building my own house in the woods. There I can go outside and feel proud of myself and what I built. I also would love to be a lawyer and give some money to Mexican people like me. This money would help people in Mexico who want to build their own stores and not a garage. They will have a great job and be thankful to me for giving them that opportunity. Sometimes people have no home in Mexico. They have to go on long days of work. Kids don’t go to school. The schools don’t give lunch if you eat at your house good. But if you don’t eat at your house, well too bad, you don’t eat in the rest of the day. Kids only eat one meal a day, not like here, you get 2-3 meals. This is my dream to help people. —Mario M.

I want to be a legendary hockey player like Wayne Gretsky with a combination of Warren Buffet. I would want to start my early life going to college for four years. Then focus more on hockey and become a NHL hockey player. I know it will be nearly impossible but I will try my best to become one. When I retire from hockey, I will focus more on politics. I will try to run for alderman, try to become mayor/governor, and try to be the president of the U.S. I know that there is a long way from becoming a president or mayor or even anything but I’m willing to give a try at it. Also during my life, I will become involved in stocks. Basically stocks are the definition of money working for you in your sleep. It is risky though because you can also lose money, but I’m willing to give it a risk. When I’m retired and my kids are in college, I’ll move to Florida with my future wife and some old friends. I might spend my last years visiting places I have never been to before too. I would love to have grandchildren if I have children, or a wife. Maybe I won’t be alive or maybe I’ll live a long healthy life. Nobody knows....Nobody knows if my dreams will come true either....Nobody knows if I’ll even go to college....Nobody knows.... —Max S.

In about five to ten years, I see myself as a detective for the NYPD. The reason why I want to be a detective is because the TV show “Blue Bloods.” That show is amazing, it teaches you a lot of loyalty, and also teaches you to be a great cop. I know I’ll have to go to law school for many years, but it’s worth it. I also would want an awesome partner; we can catch bad guys together and get gold medals for fighting crime. The reason I want it to be in New York is because that’s my hometown, and New York has so much crime and murder. When I’m about 30 or 40 I would be a police commissioner because I would be in charge of all police officers, and if I have kids I hope they will be police officers. Or if I don’t become a police commissioner, I would be a lawyer, because I’m good at a debate, and if any annoying person stands in my way they’re going to have to get through me. —Zahria C.

In five years from now I will be 16 and almost 17, and my goal is to go to a school where they can teach me how to be a better writer. After that I want to go to a good college where I will get a chance to be published like now! I would like to write about teen romance novels. I would love to do this because when you write things for teens you can write from your own experiences, especially when you are a teenager yourself. I would like to write fiction books because you can put all your creativity into the story and because you can also end up teaching people things you don’t learn at a school. I see myself in ten years, traveling around the world writing books about the places I go. But before I travel, I’m going to be learning about the places I want to go. In five years, I would be in a good high school, tenth grade to be exact. I can’t really explain myself because I don’t know what American high school is like. I’m sure that I would still be in America, but closer to going and studying in Paris than I am now. In five years I’ll have more advantages but more responsibility. My little brothers will be older. Daniel will be 14, and Yoni 11. I think that the house would be much calmer than now because my brothers will be older and more mature, I think. I hope. —Maya
