SECTION A: READING Part 1 10 marks
ROGER SMITH Roger Smith lives in the town of Stratford, in England. From Monday to Saturday, he gets up at six o’clock in the morning, has breakfast and goes to the market in the town centre to buy fruit and vegetables for his shop. Roger loves his job selling fruit and vegetables and everybody in the town says that he is a very kind and friendly man. From Monday to Friday, Roger closes his shop at five o’clock, gets in his van and drives home to have an early dinner with his wife, Penny, and his two small children, Sally and Peter. On Saturdays, Roger is always very happy. He closes his shop at one o’clock and goes to the café to meet his friends, Bob and Steve. The three men have fish and chips for lunch and then go to a football match at the Stratford Stadium. Their team usually wins.
